What are your favorite pasta types?

I like Mostacolli (which I dont know when it started to be called 'penne' I always called it mostacolli)

Do you mean mostaccioli (the "ci" gives the pronunciation a "chi" sound)? Penne has always been called penne. Mostaccioli does not have the ridges. Pastas tend to be named for thing it closely resembles. In this case, mustaches. What we call bowties in America is farfalle, translated butterflies. You would be amazed by the number of different pastas on the shelf in Italian stores. Imagine an aisle at Wal-Mart that has pastas on both sides.

My family really likes gemelli. It is actually kind of funny. If we have fettucine alfredo, DS13 won't eat much, but if we use the gemelli instead of fettucine, he eats like there is no tomorrow.

For me, as long as it has some sort of sauce on it (I count melted butter as a sauce for pasta), I will eat it. Even the green rotini in tri-color rotini. I just dont think that any pasta should be green.
