We plan to not eat at as many TS restaurants this year, and as a result will be eating at more CS restaurants. I am looking for your favorite healthy CS items / CS restaurants. I won't make it if I have to eat fried food at every meal -yuck:sick:  !

Thank you for your ideas.

I'm not sure how healthy it is, but for a lighter option I would recommend Columbia Harbor House. While it is true that they offer several fried options, they also have the most delicious tuna salad sandwiches...the best CS at MK.

I haven't been there, but if it's open when you're there (it's seasonal) I would look into the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station.

The Backlot Express at DHS has a really good grilled vegetable sandwich.

At Epcot, I really like the Sunshine Seasons - great variety of non-fried foods there.

There are always vegetarian options on the CS menus, usually salads but you can find other healthy choices too.

The CMs are sometims good about letting you sub out the fries for carrots on the combo meals.

Hope this helps :)

I second the choices mentioned above. Columbia Harbor House has a nice tuna on multigrain sandwich and (if still available) a hummus sandwich. Also, the veggie chili is very good. Sunshine Seasons in the Land at Epcot has some healthy options. I like the roasted beet and goat cheese salad. It's like a food court and there is a wide variety of foods here. At HS, Starring Roles has a whole wheat veggie pita with a fruit side.

I'm sure there are lots of options WDW. Check out the menus here or allears.net. Have a great trip.:goodvibes

Cosmic Ray's (MK) has a vegetarian wrap that is pretty good! I was there last in 2007. . .so I can't exactly recall what was in it-----but I was pleased enough to have more than one on our visit! I am a big fan of their veggie burgers, too. (Last I knew, they were Boca brand) (I have 'em 'hold the fries'. . .saves $ and removes temptation!) You'll notice many CS restaurants offer a salad option----just request the dressing 'on the side' as too often (for my personal taste) the salad comes 'over dressed'. . . .each park has at least one location that will resemble a 'market stand'----offering fruit (whole and cut up), veggies and lite dip (carrots and celery), pickles, etc. A stop here will make for some fresh and fiber-filled snacking!

I try my hardest to find 'better' options while in the parks when I can----so I can feel better when I need a Premium Mickey bar fix. . . but whoa. . .here too, try the chocolate covered banana for a treat with a 'little' less guilt!

Best advice. . .study the menus before you go! :thumbsup2

The hummus sandwich at Columbia Harbor House is very good. I have never eaten the tuna sandwich there myself, but my family members who have say it is also very good. The salad there is also good.

At Epcot, there are a lot of good choices at Seasons in The Land pavilion.

At Animal Kingdom, I have had a salad with chicken at Flame Tree and it was good. I had a sandwich there last year (I'm sure it was chicken) and it was also good.

What is on the hummus sandwich?

It is served on a very delicious whole grain type of bread and I know there is broccoli slaw on it also. I think there is also tomato. I think it is called the Lighthouse Sandwich. My son and his wife usually split a hummus sandwich and a tuna sandwich. I had the hummus sandwich for the first time this past July and I was hooked. No more chicken fingers for me - although equally delicious - but not as healthy as the sandwich. Unfortunately, we were never able to eat at Columbia Harbor House during our trip this past December. It just didn't work out for us on that trip. It is our favorite CS restaurant by far.

One thing I like about Disney is the variety of food available at CS places. I get at most 1 table service restaurant a trip. Most trips I don't do any. Over an 12 day period at WDW, Universal, Sea World, and Busch Gardens, my goal is to have a hamburger no more than onces, Pizza no more than once or twice, and Deep fried chicken strips no more than once. Most trips I'm able to do it pretty well. Universal I probably the hardest place on the bunch to eat counter service and not do Hamburger or Pizza.

Captain Cooks at the Poly is just a short monorail ride away, and beautiful to visit. We love their flatbread pizzas.
