we are probably using the dining plan for our september trip :cheer2:
so far i have picked out the following (in no particular order)

table service:

boma = dinner
crystal palace = dinner
CRT = breakfast
rose and crown = dinner
prime time = dinner
mama melrose = dinner
sci-fi = dinner
ohana = dinner
1900 park fare = character dinner
cali grill = dinner (2)
cap n jacks = dinner

counter service:

flame tree bbq
tusker house
liberty inn
columbia harbor house
pop food court

ive not yet cross referenced these choices with predicted park hours and stuff so they are VERY subject to change
have i left out any of your faves and why do you reccomend them??
thanks everyone

table service:

CRT = breakfast We LOVED this meal. Truly magical! See my Trip Report for more info!
rose and crown = dinner We had a surprisingly good meal here but that might have had more to do with the company we were with than the food! We didn;t stop laughing for 2 hours. The food was better than I'd expected though!
prime time = dinner Loved it here! The food was averagely good but the experience was what made this one memorable. I covered this in my Trippie too
ohana = dinner Brilliant! The roasted meats and appetizers were very good and the cocnut races and hula hooping were enjoyed a lot by the children (and adults ;) ) also in my Trippie

counter service:

flame tree bbq Excellent food for counter service but not sure I'd fancy this on a hot day - seating is all outdoors
tusker house - very nice food, very good setting / atmosphere for counter service

Hope that helps Nat!

Peco Bill's near to Splash in MK does great counter service.

We like the build your own burger/hot dog set up plus great chicken wraps.

Also good position for a rest pre-parade (away from the throng of Main Street) or waiting for dusk when Splash and Big Thunder take on a different feel and you just have to ride again.....

thank you,
miffy i will check out your trip report ive been neglecting that board lately
i will look into peco bills as well :)

Counter Service in parks : Peco Bill's at MK.
Character breakfast in Park : Crystal Palace
Character breakfast at Hotel : Cape May Cafe ( BC) + 1900 Parkfare (GF)
Full service in MGM: Brown Derby
Full Service Epcot : Teppanyaki in Japan or Le Cellier in Canada
Lunch buffet in park: Crystal Palace at MK
Buffet style dinner in Hotel : Boma's at AK
Full Service in Hotel Jiko's in AKL and Narcoosees in GF

Hi

We have to say Garden Grill - Epcot. The service is fantastic coz your in booths you get one to one character interaction, which is Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. The food is eat as much as you like chicken, steak, catfish, mash, salad, starter and puddings. Endless drinks. Childrens meal is chips (which you can ask for), chick strips and macoroni cheese.

We loved it and we always go there and cant wait to go this year for the 4th time.

We did not like Sci fi with the cars in MGM. The service was poor, no space to eat food, if only two of you, you have to share a car and the food was overpriced for burgers. Prime Time 50's dine resturant in MGM we didnt like it here, again the staff were appalling, menu overpriced and food quantity laughable. I would never ever visit these places again. :(

This year we are visiting Mama Melrose, Garden Grill and Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dining and cant wait.  :cool1:

Hope this helps.

Regards
Michelle

Angel, did you realise the menu for the Garden Grill has changed? It's quite different to the old one I think!

Menu here

Hiya

No I was not aware it had changed. I read on the site and it appeared to be the same as last year. How old is the menu is this site updated regularly. If so errr to the new menu. :sad2:

Thanks for this site.

:flower: Hi Nat
We did some of your suggestions on our trip

Table Service
Boma's - Dinner. Absolutely LOVED it! Such a great choice and the quality was very good. Not the usualy type of food you'd find at WDW, so made a nice change.
1900 Park fare - We did breakfast here. Lovely setting, quite relaxing. Food was excellent too - great characters
Crystal Palace - Did breakfast here with Night-train and co. on our trip, and have also done dinner on previous trip. Again, great selection of food. Qulaity was good too

I'd have to recommend Cape May Cafe - we did dinner here, and it was superb. The choice and quality was the best we had this holiday, and the service was faultless. We also did Hollywood and Vine - enjoyed that too.

Counter service - Columbia Harbor House is nice. DH loved the clam chowder there, and he had nice tuna sandwiches with it!!

Oh this is bringing back nice memories of all that lovely food!!!

Just a quick note / opinion from myself -

Contemporary for Character Breakfast - very early and very over-rated.

Brown Derby (MGM) - Excellent quality and service to match.

Disney Cruise - Food is out of this world.

David

I think you got all of our favorites - last trip we ate at Boma, Ohana, Cal Grill, Columbia Harbour House, Tusker House, and Rose & Crown. We also love Crystal Palace and Flame Tree BBQ (even though the seating is outside there are some great tables down by the waterfront).

DW enthuses about our one trip to Columbia Harbor House from a trip 10+ years ago, but I can't remember why?

Anyone care to give me a link to its menu so can reconsider a visit in October?

Thanks :wave2:

Our favorites are Ohana's , Liberty Tree in MK (lunch or dinner!), Le Cellier, the chinese counter service and restaurant were excellent...(lots of Americans dont like this, but it was good.. possibly more like english chinese food than american, or perhaps we had it on a good day!)

Other Favorites are Rose and Crown (only for Illuminations viewing! - although the food is ok)

Prime Time is always fun..

Counter service again.. at MK.. the Columbia Harbour House.. very good food..

AK.. Tusker house (for rotisserie chicken and mash!) or Flame Tree..

Epcot: so many choices, so little time!!!!!!

Angel I'm sorry to tell you that the menu I posted is the new one. The GG was down for refurb for some time and has just re-opened with the new menu. So it is the brand new menu that I posted there - All Ears is updated several times a week for menus.

Sorry!

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. Dh said he still wants to go if its a all you can eat, as he will just ask for the bits he likes. I am not sure and I dont know if it is a all you can eat. It was before it looks as though its changed.

Thanks again,

:sad2:     :sad1:

We loved:
MGM - Hollywood Brown Derby (well worth the money - excellent service and best steak in town!)
AK - Rainforest cafe - not cheap, but only about the same as a Beefeater at home, very good food and younger DS thoroughly amused the whole time spotting animals, so he even ate all his dinner (most unusual, especially as he was a bit under the weather)
Maya Grill CSR - dinner was very nice (not cheap, but excellent quality). Wouldn't recommend it for breakfast buffet though as not enough servers to go round for drinks and if not busy food hangs around a bit

Not keen:
MK -Crystal palace breakfast (waffle hard enough to pave a patio!), but best place to cuddle Pooh and Tigger
Chef Mickey - food OK but not relaxing

Want to try:
Epcot: Le Cellier and whatever the place in Mexico is called
Seaworld: the restarant with the shark viewing window

I think I'll go and have my lunch now.... :mickeybar
