What are you wearing in the parks today?

Hello. My DW, DD (8), and DD (4) are headed down to WDW in 5 days. Coming from a winter climate has given us some challenges with packing. Since the weather looks fairly consistent through next week, my question for those who are in central Florida or just returned is, what are you wearing to the parks? Long pants and jacket in the morning? Shorts all day? Something for the cooler evenings? Thanks for the help. We're trying not to bring twice as much luggage as needed!

Ohhh good question.... I'm leaving the 18th and am wondering what to pack also!

I was traveling from Ohio, so even though it might not have been super warm in Orlando, it definitely felt like it. I wore shorts or capri leggings every day. I wore t-shirts and then brought a light sweatshirt with me for the early mornings and late nights! Some days we rented a locker and put our jackets in it until it got colder and sometimes we just tied them around our waist.

Hi all,

I have been watching the weather for next week in Disney like a hawk as I will be down there with my daughter starting on the 12th and had the same questions. Basically what I have seen is days being around 80 and nights in the 60's (at least that is what the NWS is saying) Looks like mostly sunny days with the exception of Thurs (17th) right now. So we are going with mostly just shorts and t shirts as even 70 let alone 80 will feel pretty warm coming from highs in the 30's right now.

Sorry folks. But it's fall/winter in FL. You will need to pack for all temps, shorts to sweatshirts. Chances are good you'll need both in the same day.

And remember, it's humid and sometimes windy at night, which can make it colder. Definitely always bring at least one pair of jeans/pants and a sweater/sweatshirt. Our weather is completely unpredictable, no matter what your weather app is telling you. Case in point, the weather app currently says there is a ZERO percent chance of rain today. And it's raining. So. Florida.

Yes, we were in WDW right around this time last year and, in looking at the photos we took, we were in T-shirts during the day, but invariably had sweatshirts or even jackets on at night. The locker idea is usually what we do.

Layers! We just left today and did long sleeved shirts and/sweatshirts in the mornings and evenings. I usually just kept my long sleeved shirt on for the day. DH Would take his sweatshirt off and have a short sleeved shirt on. I did a mix of leggings, jeans and capris.

It was high 50s these past 3-4 mornings and it was really chilly. I'm from Ohio and i would have been cold in a tank top or short sleeved shirt in the morning/evening.

When we have gone with similar temps, we wear shorts and short sleeve shirts. We might be a little cool first thing in the morning, but it warms up quickly. For us, it is better to be a little cook for a while rather than have to lug a jacket around all day. We usually go back to our room in the later afternoon and head to another park in the early evening. We bring or wear a jacket then because it feels cooler once the sun goes down.

We're going this weekend, if the forecast holds (60-80 degrees), we're planning shorts/capris during the day and a long sleeved shirt and/or light cover up for evenings with jeans.

We are here now. Heading to MK in an hour for the late night. I've got on jeans and a hoodie. Low is 61....I will be a little warm until sundown, but I would rather not carry a jacket. Weather has bee gorgeous all week.

Have a fun evening. :cool1:

We check in on Friday. Thankfully we drive from GA so I we can leave jackets in the car and grab if necessary. Today I picked up a lightweight cotton tee shirt fabric jacket in Talbots, thinking maybe even short sleeved tee with it and jeans and leggings. Still haven't packed a thing!

Former North Central Floridian transplanted to Colorado. For my trip next week I'm packing my "Florida winter clothes" (now "Colorado summer") -- cotton capris with cotton short-sleeved polos. Since Florida winters can bring any weather at any time, I'll also pack: wicking shorts and shirts, one pair of jeans, a couple of long-sleeve T-shirts, a lightweight cotton hoodie, a wind & water resistant quilted jacket, smart wool socks, sun hats and a swimsuit.

One year I went to the Candlelight Processional with every bit of out-of-state winter clothes I had in my then-Florida closet -- heavy jacket with cashmere sweater underneath, hat, gloves, jeans... It was literally freezing cold that night and with the wind coming across the water, it was incredibly cold.

Next week's forecast of 80s during the day and 60s at night will probably be lovely. But when the weather changes, it changes fast. So I'm planning to be prepared for any type of weather.

I'm here too (SSR). Finding I wear shorts and a tee in the day but switch to yoga pants, tee and a hoodie at night. Haven't used my jacket. Also switch to runners at night.

By any chance was that December of '10? We were in Orlando Dec26-30 of '10 as daughter was marching in the Champs Bowl. We left central GA in snow and had temps in the 30s most mornings. Our kids had enough sense to check the weather and pack properly but some teens from Ohio show up for morning rehearsals in Nikes shorts and flip flops! I remember sitting in the upper nosebleed deck in the old Bowl with hand warmers, foot warmers, blankets and scarves shivering. Our band director, from Michigan, had our kids on the bus right after half time. Crazy weather!

The time I froze at the CP was in the mid-1990s -- I don't remember exactly which year. But there's usually a few hard freezes per year in central Florida. I do remember December of 2010 because we had to drive down to Orlando for a non-Disney reason and the orange growers were trying to bring the fruit in before the freeze. Then there was the June we visited WDW during Tropical Storm Debby... Florida weather is quite erratic.

We are leaving in the morning. I am planning on jeans and t shirts with a sweatshirt or jacket in my back pack for mornings and evenings. Hoping I won't be too hot in the jeans, but we are planning to to parks open to close without going back to the room!
