There have been several book threads lately, so what are you reading and how do you like it?

I'm about to start re-reading The Time Traveler's Wife.

I am rereading an older book by Eugenia Price as I love her historical series about Savannah in the pre Civil War period up through the Civil War

I am on book 3 of her Savannah Series called Before the Darkness Falls by Eugenia Price and I love it

I am in the middle a reading The Hour I First Believed. It is good, but it is taking me awhile to get through.

As light reading I have reading Chelesa Handler's new book.

Crimes By Moonlight..its a very good book of short stories from the darkside lol all written by Mystery authors..

I love biographies. I just finished "Building a Company", a biography about Roy Disney and now I'm reading "Standing Next to History" by Jeffery Robinson, who was one of Ronald Reagan's secret service agents.

I just finished reading, Oprah, an unauthorized biography by Kitty Kelly. I was curious with so many news outlets shunning Kitty Kelly about it. It actually was a pretty good book. I thought it was well researched, lots of interviews including interviews of Oprah over the years. I liked the historical context of the book. It did not paint Oprah in the best of light, but then there was a credible reference for everything. I can see why Oprah didn't care for it.

My next book is a biography of Agatha Christie. I love her books. :)

Remembering Survival: Inside a Nazi Slave Labor Camp by Christopher R. Browning.
I have to design a syllabus for my Holocaust and Ethics independent study. I may have to put it aside since I just got my syllabus for my Philosophy in a Digital Age summer class.

I just finished reading the Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I am next moving on to book 4 of the Peter and the Starcatcher series by Ridley Pierson.

I just finished "Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women" and "Alcott in Her Own Time: A Biographical Chronicle of Her Life, Drawn from Recollections, Interviews, and Memoirs by Family, Friends, and Associates."

Next I'm moving on to "Appetite for Life" -- a bio of Julia Child.

I'm reading Meet the Spellmans. It's the first in a series about a family-run PI agency in San Francisco. So far, so good.

I'm reading Opening Day by Jonathan Eig. It chronicles Jackie Robinson's first season. I love it, it's a great book so far.

Just finished reading Cemetery Dance by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child last night. That book was a page turner, kept me riveted.

Today I started the latest Sookie Stackhouse book...Dead in the Family. Hope it's good.

I just bought the new release in a series that I have been reading for about 15 years; A River in the Sky, from the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters. The books are phenomenal mysteries/ historical novels about an early 20th century husband and wife egyptologist team. The author has a PhD in Egyptology and inserts the characters into actual events. So so good and educational!

This sounds interesting! I will have to look it up. I love Egyptian history. I just started The Lost Symbol. Haven't had a lot of time to read the past few weeks, but I think it will be good.

My last few memorable books were The Girl Who Played with Fire (not as good as Tattoo, but I will definitely read the final book in the trilogy). I really enjoyed Pirate Latitudes. Took it to WDW with me...perfect book for a Disney trip.
