This year, I am most thankful that my DH is not on orders through the Air National Guard (He did 15 months, starting right after 9/11 and finished at the end of 2002. Luckily, he was only stationed at his base which is about two and a half hours from our home, so he was home on weekends, but it was still a very long and stressful time).

I am also thankful for my health. I know, if you look at everything on my signature, one might ask how I could be thankful? Well, I am thankful that I was working on becoming healthier before we found out about the cancer, and my doctor has told me that if I hadn't been working out, it would have taken us longer to find out about the cancer, and the tumor could have eaten through my entire leg bone. I am also tolerating the chemo very well, which the doctor attributes to my being healthier when the cancer was discovered (well, that, and the fact that I am only 27!).

Of course, I am thankful for my DS4 and DSD10, and all of our extended family as well.

So what are you thankful for?

Where do I start?

I am most thankful for being pregnant with our little miracle baby. We have had 2 miscarriages this year alone. And we stopped trying. BAM, I was pregnant. So far, everything is wonderful. I have seen my baby's heartbeat, and I just am so in love already.

I am thankful for my incredible husband. He makes me smile, laugh, giggle, etc. a million times a day. He is so spectacular. Who knew when I started talking to him at age 15, 11 years later we would be married and expecting a child?

I am thankful for my mother. She means the world to me. Since losing my dad to cancer 4 years ago, my mom has taken on both rolls. Since my brother is in jail (another story), she is really all I have family wise, and I love her so much.

I am thankful for my health. I was able to get up this morning, go to a job, have money to go out with family tonight, and a warm bed to curl up in tonight. Plus my two LOVING cats that will keep my feet warm.

Gosh, I really need to come back and read this someday when I am depressed. I have so much in my life to be thankful for.

Thanks for the reality check.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I am thankful for my wonderful family. They have been so supportive during the stress of planning my wedding, and they love me unconditionally.

I'm also thankful for the wonderful, kindhearted, generous man I am about to marry. He is a blessing!

I am most thankful that my husband returned home from Kuwait safe and sound after 7 months away with his Army National Guard unit. Our family is together again!!

Babytigger99 please thank your DH for our family. We went through 2 months of DH preparing for deployment at Fort Dix, New Jersey. 5 trips in 8 weeks, 16 hours round trip, was so hard on our family. But how could we not visit when he was close enough to drive? He did not "only" serve at his base, his job is just as important in the military as any other, regardless of where he served. He was home on the weekends taking care of precious you! Best wishes for a quick recovery.

I am thankful for my wonderful husband. We have been together 23 wonderful years and have been married for 20 of those 23 years. I am thankful for my father for being there when I need him. Thankful for my daughter and nephew. I am so proud of both of them. I am also thankful that our financial circumstances are starting to improve and looks like the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train after all.

I grateful to have a perement part time job. I only had a seasonal job since high school and that been 10 years ago. I happy for the job.

I bless to have health and be with my family this Thanksgiving. That is what the hoildays is all about.

I still have ALL my family
We are in good health.
We are in 'financially' good shape
We got to go to Disney this year
I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and children & inlaws to boot.

That's all I can think of at this moment...:D

I am thankful that I still have my mother, that she is cancer free.

I'm also thankful for my wonderful son who is actually gainfully employed :)

Always thankful for my wonderful dh, who humors my Disney addiction even though he is Disney impaired.

Thankful that I found the DIS almost 4 years ago. What a huge part of my life it became :)

I'm thankful that my DH is still here with me.. He's a tough old Marine and no matter how many times they tell us he's down for the count, he's gets right back up fighting again!

I'm thankful for my daughter - she's the BEST! Always there for me when I need her (and even when I "think" I don't).. She's such a "fun" person - makes me smile just to think about her..

I'm thankful for my son-in-law - he's definitely one-of-a-kind.. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for us and he actually ENJOYS spending time with me.. (Isn't there some kind of law against son-in-laws WANTING to be around their mother-in-law??) :)

I'm SOOOOO thankful for my precious little granddaughter.. The past five years of my life have been an absolute dream come true because of her.. She's pretty; smart; witty; loving; and so "in tune" with the world around her.. My life just wouldn't be the same without my little munchkin'... :)

I'm thankful that my Mom is still here and doing so well.. At 85 she's able to accomplish more in one day than I can! She's an amazing woman..

I'm thankful for my sister and my brothers - they're healthy and happy and I know they love me..

I'm thankful for my health; my home; our summer place; and the fact that God has seen fit to bless me with so much..

I'm thankful that God is in my life - and watching over all of us..

------------------------------------------

And last but not least, I'm thankful to the DIS boards and all the wonderful people here.. You're all the best!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wave2:

This year, I am most thankful for my DS. :) I just can't put into words how much joy he has brought to our lives the past 5 months!

I'm thankful for my DH. Not only is he a wonderful husband, he's also my best friend.

I'm thankful for our dogs, Maggie and Milo. They can always make me smile and I'm so glad that they have been great with the baby so far!!

I'm thankful that we are all happy and healthy. I'm also happy that our families and friends are all happy and healthy. :)

I'm thankful for the friends I have made through the DIS. :)

And I'm thankful that LSU has had such a wonderful season!! ;) Had to sneak that one in!! ;) Go Tigers!!

I'm thankful for many things. But the most important this year include...

Dear Son

Renewed friendships with old friends! ;)

Oh boy, it's been quite a year. Great idea, to take stock and count your blessings.

I am thankful for my family and friends. Without them, so much of this year would have been even harder. They reached out in so many ways to help when times were tough.
I am thankful beyond words to the medical people who diagnosed and acted quickly when my son became critically ill. Though I NEVER want to go through a middle of the night race down Route 95 again, they were wonderful at keeping me aware of what was happening as I raced to the hospital. The care he received was wonderful. Now we face the reconstructive surgery, probably in January or February. I am thankful that the option to reconstruct exists. The thought of my son facing his entire life with a colostomy would break my heart.
I am thankful for my husband. He's got his own demon to deal with right now (a family and business disaster) but has opened up to allow me to help him. That's a big step for him. I am thankful for the solidarity of the family as we face the dishonesty and immorality of one member. I know that we will hold tight to each other and recover from that persons misdeeds, and fight to regain what has been stolen from us.
I am thankful for my job, and the good people I work with. They have been amazing. As a huge synagogue, we sometimes get a bad rap about being impersonal. I can personally vouch for the compassion and concern at all levels of the staff and people who are much involved.
Wow, I'm a very lucky lady. Thanks for making me take a step back to see it. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Let's keep this going, what else is everyone thankful for??

Another one I thought of, I am thankful I don't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner for the 36 people at my mom's house this year!!

There is another thread going that I replied to but I will reply to this one too if it's ok.
This year I am most thankful that my dd Ashli was not injured or worse in the car wreck she had a few weeks ago.
And I am also very thankful that Titus is still safe in Iraq. And that he'll be coming home soon (Feb/March as far as we know).
The Lord has really blessed me and my family this year and I have many more things in my life that I am very thankful for but I won't post them all.

I am thankful to Jesus for saving me, that I will have eternal life
I am thankful that my Mom has made it one year with fighting cancer
I am thankful for my 2 wonderful DDs and a fantastic DH
I am thankful for family that loves me more than words can say
I am thankful for the strength God has given me to get through each and every day as I support my Mom with her fight
I am thankful for my family in Christ that is there for me
I am thankful that God has provided me with a job that is flexible for my family
I am thankful for all the unnoticed things I am protected from, God's invisible hand
I am thankful for trials I go through, I can then realize how blessed I have truly been and am strong because of them
I am thankful for all my friends who help me through and teach me lessons along the way
I am thankful for every part of my life....good and bad, because God has given it to me.....and everything has a reason.

I have a lot to be thankful for

I have a great job, which I love and will keep me VERY busy for the next month.

My DH has a job he likes (for a change) and they aren't letting him go anywhere (although he can transfer to central Florida!)

My family is healthy. Mom and SIL's cancer treatments have gone well and both are in remission. Mom worked very hard all her life, it's nice that she can enjoy retirement.

My son finally has a medication that works well his autism. He's doing great in school and he is delighted that he's able to concentrate!

We had two great family trips to WDW this year, and I got two solo trips.

I hit a deer last January and only hurt the car a little bit. The next night, DH hit a deer and the only thing that was hurt were my nerves (I was in the car).

We have had lots of neighbors sell their houses this year. All the new neighbors have kids around the same age as mine...after 5 years, we can have the kids go out and play and not worry about the neighbors complaining about them being kids!

I'm thankful for the DIS and OASIS, my two sanity stops on the Net...yes, making me laugh helps my sanity!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Suzanne

I am Thankful for all God has given me.... my family, a handful of true friends,a warm home, health, a full belly, and this country for which I was born in and the Men and Women who protect us. I thank you!

As well as a great job!

God is good!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Lisa

I am thankful that events transpired which led to the end of an almost 5 year relationship that I didn't realize was "wrong" for me until I was out of it.

I am thankful for my mother and all the help and support (both mentally and financially) she has given me since I moved "home" after the relationship ended.

I am thankful that a woman I have known since we were in kindergarten, but who I hadn't seen or spoken to in over 3 years, took the initiative to call me when I moved home because as she said "[she] didn't know if I would know anyone around here any longer." I am so thankful that she did because she is truly my best friend and I would have been so lonely and lost without her when I first moved back.

I am also very thankful to have reconnected with other "old" friends. They have really filled my life with so much fun and happiness in the last few months...something I hadn't been aware that I was missing before.

I am thankful that I finally found a job. It isn't something that I enjoy, but at least it helps to pay the bills while I am still in school.

I'm thankful for my good friends.:) I'm thankful that my kids are healthy and they know I love them very much. I'm also thankful for cherry sprites from Sonic.;)
