CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE...and more specifically CARSLAND!

This will be my first time (and kiddos') first time going to California Adventure.

We took a "first time as a family" trip to WDW back in November, so now I'm excited I'm taking my kids with my mom to DLR! I can't wait to see the giddiness between my kids and their grandma!!

Aside from CA as a whole, I'm looking forward to doing the things we missed out on our trip at WDW. Fantasmic!, sitting in the Tiki Room with dole whips, doing the drawings in the Animation Academy, seeing It's Tough to be a Bug...stuff like that!

I also am looking forward to buying the silhouettes for souvenirs, taking my kids on the Matterhorn (my first ride at Disneyland when I was 5!), TOON TOWN, taking them on the *good* POTC - haha!

This is my youngest daughter's first visit. It will be my mom and brother's first visit since 1997ish. They haven't even seen DCA!

It's also around both of my DD's birthday's. It's just a huge celebration. It's the first trip we've taken that was a REAL trip with my mom. We're super excited :D

OH and the kids STILL DON'T KNOW mwahahahah

Eek I'm also excited for Carsland! Based on the pictures and videos I've seen it looks like it will be AMAZING! We watched Cars last week to hype us up even more!

Also, going to the Blue Bayou for the first time! It's my boyfriend's birthday on our second day in the parks, so I plan to make reservations. Does anybody have any suggestions on what is better to make reservations for, lunch or dinner? Obviously it's indoors so lighting wise it doesn't matter... I'm just having trouble deciding!

I am super excited about everything since it will be our first trip! Since it's a few months away I am almost equally excited now about revealing the news to my family, since no one but me knows. I am also super excited about all of my ADR, since I am starving right now and keep thinking about food :)

Lots!

Going to the Halloween party(we didn't have the money 2 years ago)
Taking my middle dd's friend(who I am sure has never done Disney like we do)
Hubby getting to spend another b-day in Disneyland
Seeing if I can maintain my weight and not gain while I am there
Riding Matterhorn since it was closed last time
SMGG
Getting to see more villains
Carsland

I could go on for days.

Hopefully going at a more leasurely pace, eating at Club 33 if I get the chance and at the Carthay Circle Theater. Hopefully taking the Disney studio tour, taking pictures and people watching at the RBT outside.

Watching my folks watch their grandkids while it snows on Main Street. We always did DL during spring break as a kid, so this is my parent's first time during the holidays.
Hoping it's warm enough to experience the waterslides at DLH.
And finally, a little curious about Carlsland, always fun to try something new.

3 things...

seeing the Christmas decorations (it's my favorite time to visit)

staying at the DLH

seeing Carsland

That sounds like a great plan! Where are you having dinner ?

HI Astylla.. thanks for asking! I'm not sure yet where to have dinner? It will be around 10PM that we are in the park.. any suggestions? Maybe we'll do the Jazz Kitchen at DD instead?

I'm looking forward to going for the longest time (2 1/2-3 days) since my honeymoon 4 years ago. More than that, getting to be spoiled and choose what we do since we will be there for my birthday (albeit a week early). I am already making a short list of must do's this trip: first time eating at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, WOC/Dinner at Ariel's, and Rainforest Cafe; Storybookland Canals at night, watch fireworks show, F!, and WOC at least once each, and of course, BTMRR a few times each day; and last but not least, spending a few days with the love of my life in my favorite place in the world. :lovestruc

I am excited for my mom to join us, my sons Birthday while there, and well just having a good time.

We are going tomorrow for the weekend. I am excited to see the HM non-HMH, it has been years since I have seen it non-Nightmare. Riding Pirates since it was closed last time.
Riding the Mark Twain at sunset, it is very romantic. :)

Lunch at BTRBBQ
Pomme Frites

Just being in the Park. :)

Seeing my kids' reactions to seeing DLR for the first time, especially with all the Christmas decorations. It's all so real to them that I know their reactions will be great. I also can't wait to ask about the Lilly Belle and maybe, if the kids won't go into a coma, see about the Christmas tour.

My son knows he is going to "where Mickey Mouse lives" but I look forward to seeing his face, reaction, etc. when we actually get there and reality hits him. Our first trip to Disneyland together will be great - I just have to get through all this planning! Someone asked me, why not just show up and go with the flow? I just chuckled.

I am hoping our next trip will be for the cars land Preview...but if we don't get tickets ... I'm looking forward to going after June 15 and having dinner at the Carthay Cirle Restaurant.

HI Astylla.. thanks for asking! I'm not sure yet where to have dinner? It will be around 10PM that we are in the park.. any suggestions? Maybe we'll do the Jazz Kitchen at DD instead?

I've heard great things about Jazz Kitchen while never having dined there myself , most would agree you can't go wrong ! I'm unsure about their hours but I would think they would be open later since they are located in DTD. Garden walk has some great choices as well if you are looking to venture farther or off property. I'm sure you will both have a great evening no matter where you decide :) Happy Early birthday to your husband too !
