I have been to WDW plenty of times and even once or twice as a solo traveler. It is just about my favorite place to go in the world!
I have been having a rough year with work and stuff, I decided I needed a break and to do that, I would treat myself with a Disney vacation.

So, here is my attempt at a trip report.
Am going to try to include some of my pictures, if I can figure that out.
Hey - how do y'all do those chapter link things?

This is me, Lara:

Lara - Solo March 2010 Trip – Pop Century Resort
________________________________________
The Cast:

Me, Lara – yes, only one person this time, I am making a solo trip.

So many people thought I was crazy for doing this, but really, it is no different from going anywhere by yourself….ok, a little different.
I have been on solo trips to Disney before, spending 1 day at Disneyland while in California and a solo trip to Walt Disney World in January of 2007. That trip I stayed at All Star Music, this time I would be staying at Pop Century Resort.
In October of 2009, I brought my niece to WDW for her Birthday/Thanksgiving/Halloween/Christmas/New Years/Valentines Day/Arbour Day (ok, you get the picture) Trip. We had a great time! Definitely different touring style than we had taken before with the rest of the family. We had “RECORD BREAKING TEMPERATURES” each day while we were there, in other words, it was HOT!! We also stayed at Pop Century on that trip. I really like this value resort and I didn’t want to spend the extra $$ for the moderate when it was just me and all I needed was a bed and a shower.
With the help of Keith at Mouseketrips, I was able to book a room and tickets package with the $300 gift card back. I flew down on Airtran, always keeping an eye out for those cheap efares! I had some spending money saved and some Disney Reward Dollars as well. I was not planning any sit down meals, so I should be able to pull this off without spending too much money!
I did however, plan to take some tours. This time I booked the Backstage Safari Tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I also booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at The Magic Kingdom. This would be my 3rd or 4th time taking this tour – but it really is different every time depending on what tour guide you get – and I haven’t had the same one twice!
I also posted my travel dates on the Dis Boards and low and behold this one other Diser would also be down in Orlando at the same time. She would actually be down there working, but planned to spend a little Disney time if she could. So we made plans to meet for dinner one night and maybe even hang out in a park on one of her free days – stay tuned to see how that worked out….

Hi!:wave2: Joining in!! I followed you over from my TR.:goodvibes It sounds like a fun trip! We've never done any of the tours so I'm anxious to hear what you thought of them.:thumbsup2

Oh...and to do the chapter links, all you have to do when you post an update is click on the post number. It will open up a new page, copy the link at the top. Then go back to your original page and go to where you want your links to be (I usually put them in my very first post) click edit at the bottom of the post..then click insert link (it looks like the earth/paperclip) and paste your link in, click ok and then when it shows up on your page, part of it will be highlighted just type in the name of your post..ex. Magic Kingdom pt.1, and then just preview or save changes at the bottom and that's it.

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for joining in.....and for the instructions!!
Hoping to have some more done this weekend - since I am at home and can add pictures!!!

Got up at 6am for my first day at Walt Disney World! Showered and left my hair curly today (I usually like to straighten it – easier to deal with throughout the day). Oh, but not today – it was POURING, so curly it is!
Had time to go to the food court to grab some breakfast. I ordered the kids Mickey waffle plate – the adult version was not a Mickey shape but had the POP logo in the middle of it. Grabbed an OJ and sat down at a table and read for a few minutes. When I headed out to the busses, I noticed and DAK bus pulling away – darn it!
It was raining like crazy, but I did have a poncho and umbrella in my backpack. Got to DAK and checked in under cover for the Behind the Scenes tour. This would be my first time taking this tour and I was excited, despite the rain. ****Spoiler Warning here - might have some info about the tour....if you don't want to know specifics, skip the next couple of paragraphs****

Paul was our tour guide and I loved that, I had read some good reviews online about his tours. He gave us all a free Mickey poncho! We got set with our radio headgear and headed backstage right at the Rainforest Café. Normally you walk to the back of the park at this time – but since it was raining so hard, he had arranged motorized transportation for us! YAY!! We got to drive around the outskirts of the park in a couple of white vans – I always sat in the passenger seat since I was the only solo in the group.

He drove around the park pointing out things like the fence to keep some out, more than some in, the buildings and the bike racks and path for the cast members that worked there. Our first stop was the elephant barn where we got to watch the morning wash routine for one of the bull elephants and we learned a lot, even getting to ask the trainer some questions. Disney is so great about recycling – they even recycle the waste from the elephants – makes great fertilizer! You needed to know that, right?!
Over a month back writing this and I can’t remember the order of the places we visited, but we went to the Vet Center back at Rafiki’s, but no surgeries were scheduled that day. Note to self (and others if you would like): Friday is a travel day for the Vets there, they go around to make “house calls” to animals all around WDW, therefore, surgeries are rarely scheduled on Fridays. We also visited the dietary center were we saw many things of which I will not describe for you here…but just know those animals at DAK are WELL FED!~ A Cast Member was having a birthday party that day and they had stored his cake in the fridge with the animal food – but they said it was well sealed and only in with the vegetation…..hmmmmm.
We took a break in one of the buildings to watch a film about conservation and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We got to take off the ponchos, use our new mugs to fix some hot tea or hot chocolate and grab some snacks.
From there we went the backstage entrance over to the safari. We loaded where the trucks normally unload. Paul was our guide as we didn’t have the regular storyline. We drove past the loading docks and there were only 1 group of 4 waiting for a truck. Another Note to self: come to the DAK in the rain, there is no one here!!
The safari was great as we took it slow and Paul showed us many of the secrets of the safari and keeping the animals safe and separate from the park goers. After the ride, we gathered in Africa to check out a big “hidden mickey” of stones and then we parted ways.
As I was passing through, I saw a couple of the characters from The Jungle Book, so stopped to have my picture. I was asked to take off my poncho as to not get them wet…..sorry!
I headed over to Asia to ride Expedition Everest through the single rider line. I don’t think it really was necessary, but the wait in the regular line was 15 minutes, single rider, none! Got pelted in the face by some raindrops along the way, but had a great ride!
I made a call home to check in with the parental units and let them know about my tour. I was walking past the turn off for Kali River Rapids and decided “what the heck, I am already drenched! Now this is unusual for many reasons…..ok, really just one reason – I HATE water rides!! I rode Splash Mountain in October with my niece because it was her trip, but I did duck behind the big man sitting in front of us! So, I walk into the queue…and walk and walk some more. I was able to check out the display of “artifacts” along the way as NO ONE was coming into the line behind me. I even stopped a few times to yell out to see if I was even going the right way, as I saw no other human being at all! Finally saw 2 cast members trying to stay a bit out of the rain. I had one of them take a picture of me with the sign, just a little proof that I had ridden this ride.
cC

I got onto one of the rafts and quickly stored my backpack in the center. I thought I was going to take this journey completely alone, until a dad and his 2 kids jumped on the raft with me – all getting on the other side.
Not a bad ride, but nothing too great either. Not something I will have to repeat any time soon. My booty did get quite wet as the water slooshed (is that a word?) over the sides.
Got a bottle of water and went in to watch Flights of Wonder just as it was starting. This is a nice covered area, so I had a chance to take off the poncho and dry out a bit. Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but I took my shoes off too as my toes were quite squishy!
After the show, I walked around the park a bit and even saw Devine. It is great to watch people’s reactions to her. Had my picture taken in front of The Tree, even got one of the bonus pictures, holding onto Simba. I only wish the photopass guy had told me how bad my hair looked!!
Went to see Its Tough to be a Bug – making sure to stop and see the duplicate animal at the entrance to the theatre (something you learn on the tour – you really should take it!). Half empty theatre, but still a cute show.
Next I headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey as I did not want to go another trip without seeing The Festival of the Lion King. This is probably my favorite show at Walt Disney World.
While there, I had to get my picture with some of the characters. I had never met Thumper and Miss Bunny before, and of course enjoyed getting my picture with Goofy and Donald! The cast members here were obviously quite bored and we joked around awhile, waiting for the characters to return. I even posed with one of them in “Goofy style”. When it was my turn with Mickey, Minnie and Pluto, I think that Pluto really needed a fire hydrant, and was even doing a little dance…..LOL.

cC

The parade was canceled that day, due to the rain. I thought about getting something to eat there, but really just wanted to rest and get DRY! So, I headed back to my room at POP.
Back at the resort, I didn’t feel like dealing with the food court. I stopped at a vending machine and got some bugles and a water. Back in the room I hung my clothes up to dry and took a shower. Watched tv for a little while and noticed how absolutely wet my jean capris were. Instead of wearing something else, I decided to iron them to get them dry – hey, it worked! (but that ironing board was a pain the rest of my trip!)
I had plans to meet Andie (RockinDisney) for dinner at the Whispering Canyon Café at 8pm. Never knowing how long the transportation may take, I headed to the bus stop at 6pm to a waiting MK bus. I was at the Magic Kingdom by 6:20!! This was way too early to head to the Wilderness Lodge, so I went into the park to just look around Main Street a bit.
I took some great pictures down main street – loved the lighting from the sky. Did a little window shopping and decided to go into Town Hall behind Tony’s. I had heard that some characters had been spotted here. Well, there were a couple of princesses hanging out in their ball gowns. I got into the non-existent line to have my picture with Ariel and Cinderella. Ariel made a comment about my red hair and how I could be one of her sisters, but I told her I didn’t have any sisters. To which Cinderella replied, well that is good, you could have awful step sisters like she does. Oh so true!
Outside I had my picture taken with Chip and Dale and then decided I better get on a boat over to Wilderness Lodge. Had to wait about 15 minutes, as the boat was just pulling away as I walked up. Still got to the Lodge in plenty of time.

cont. on next post....

Ok, I will get the hang of this eventually.
For some reason, now my pictures are tiny.
I tried the chapter link and had no success....will try again from home.

Andie sends me a text to let me know that they were running late. Yup, they, she was bringing her friend with her! You know, because you never know what you are gonna get with another Dis person! LOL
I grabbed a rocking chair in front of the big fireplace and she texted again asking me to go ahead and check us it. I did and was called back in about 5 minutes. Sat at our table and the server was really nice, brought my coke, a basket of cornbread and even a salad while I waited for my other dinner guests. Oh how I love that cornbread, it is yummy!
Andie had never been to TWCC, and I was so hoping she would enjoy the whole experience. Unfortunately they missed the rocking horse race and the hokey pokey. Just in case you are wondering, yes, I did get up and do the hokey pokey! We even got to sing Happy Birthday – Cha cha cha to someone celebrating that night!
They no longer have the Doc Willis’s roasted chicken on the menu. I love that chicken…..

Decided to edit to include some food porn for anyone...

Yummy Cornbread!
ry%3D400

We need KETCHUP!!!!

Andie and friend finally arrive and we all order right away. They were both working a convention in town that weekend and were both extremely tired after spending all day setting up the booth. Major story of the trip down with the vehicle with all the merch in it – whoah, perilous! They ordered the skillet and I ordered the meatloaf – mainly so that I would have to ask for ketchup!!
They no longer have the banana dust bowl dessert I like either. So, we decided not to order dessert there, but all are given their drinks in to go cups – so nice!
Instead we drive over to the Poly to go to Captain Cooks to get a Dole Whip.
Man, Andie and I could talk FOREVER!! She is so extremely nice and I glad that we got a chance to meet up and do dinner at Disney!

cC

Once at The Poly, her friend stayed in the car and we went in and filled up a cup of the good stuff. Andie learned the trick of building the wall and filling it in so you don’t have a whole in the middle of your dole whip. Hey, they aren’t charging by weight or volume here – get what you can! ;)
We chat on the way back to the car and she offers to drive me back to Pop! Thank goodness! Her friend slept the whole way. We missed a couple of turns, but eventually found our way there. I think this was her first visit to that resort. She dropped me off right at the curb in front of my building – what great service (My feet thank you very much, Andie!).

It sounds like you had a great day despite the rain!:thumbsup2 The tour sounds like a lot of fun...hmm...I may have to check it out!! Yay for seeing Devine!! We still haven't seen her yet.:confused3

How cool that you got to see Cinderella and Ariel...and in a non-existent line! (I'm sure that doesn't happen very often!;) )

WCC sounds yummy!! Glad you had such a good time at dinner.:goodvibes

Looking forward to more!popcorn::

Once I just decided to deal with the rain and go with it - it was all good. Made for some very short lines at DAK!
Cinderella and Ariel in the ball gowns, no less!!!
WCC is yummy and fun - I hear breakfast is good there too!
Thanks for reading!! :thumbsup2

Enjoying your trip report so far. Thanks for posting:)

I don't know how to do that multiple quote thing either....
Thanks for reading!!
Hoping to work on it more today - but didn't get my pictures posted on shutterfly - must do that tonight!

I love that you are brave to do a solo trip PLUS meet new people! I went sort of solo back in December 2008. I arrived on December 13th and my daughter & grandson weren't arriving until December 17th so I had 4 days by myself and I loved it! We only had base tickets so I had four days to hit each park. We didn't have the dining plan and I was a little cash poor so I brought up snacks in my suitcase and spent about $25 for other food til she arrived. I went back to the hotel during the middle of the day to shower & relax for an hour or two and went on attractions that were new to me.

If you want to do multiple quotes, just click down on the right hand corner of someone's post where it says "multiple" and do that to everyone who you want to respond to, then start typing away under their quotes. It's hard for me to explain but it took me a couple of tries to get it right.

As far as your pics are concerned, you may have to go into Photobucket or where your pics are saved and resize them in there according to their directions. I'm not much but hopefully someone else on here can give clearer instructions.

Wish I had guts to do a solo trip! I Won't even get on a plane by myself!

It is easier as you do it...I have had to travel some for work before, so I had to get used to it!

I think people are still amazed that each time I go back, I do something new!
I am glad you had a good time solo!

Day 3, Saturday, March 13 – A day of trying new things and the day of the mysterious texts

Up early this morning, still wishing they would remove Stitch from the wakeup call recordings. Made it to Epcot for the opening and got to see the morning show with the characters. I have not been pushed and run into by strollers while standing still so much before!
Headed straight to The Land with the rest of the masses, moo moo moo.
I grabbed a FP for Soarin’ and then got into the regular line, which was up to a 20 minute wait already, according to the sign. I hear a “any single riders” call in the distance and start waving my arms to let them know I was there! I passed at least 50-75 people to get in the FRONT ROW CENTER, well, the end seat of the center section! After soaring over California, the CM came over and told me if I wanted to stay for the next ride, I could as they had a spot for a single rider – same seat! So, I got 2 back to back Soarin’ rides, who can ever say that!?
While walking out, I received a text from an unknown # asking which park I was in that day – more on this conundrum later.
Rode Living with the Land, chatting with my dad while waiting in line. Well, trying to chat anyways, as I wandered through the queue I kept losing signal.
Then, back to Soarin’ to use my FP. So I rode this 3 times within an hour! How awesome!
Left The Land to ride Finding Nemo and went to check out Turtle Talk with Crush and the line was so freakin’ long! No way was I going to wait for that. Cute show, but not a HAVE TO kinda thing.
I then cut through Innoventions, looking for my Disney Forums friend, Jeanne who works at EPCOT. Never found her. I did check out The Sum of all Thrills, but only 2 of the 4 machines were working at the time, so the wait was over an hour. Yup, I will check back on that some other time.
I stepped into Character Connections and there was quite a line, but it was moving pretty quickly. I decided to step over to Mouse Gears to get something for the characters to sign. Got a pack of postcards and got in line at CC. I remember when they first started this and you could practically walk straight up to Mickey Mouse with no wait. I was determined to do this on this trip, since back in October we never did get back to it. I haven’t had my pictures with the backdrops, so since I was working to get as many pictures onto my photopass cd as I can, I stayed in line to have my pictures taken. And here started another trend throughout my trip – the CM’s kept trying to put me in other people’s pictures – or put a kid in mine. Nope! Solo adult traveler here, and yes, I love my picture with some characters!
cC

After the photo session I walked over to Test Track to get on through the single rider line – but the wait was 45 minutes – WHAT!? No way….Skipped that and went over to Mission Space for a direct walk on for the green side. Yes, I am a wimp lately!
From here I went to check out the Garden Center – it was the time for the Flower and Garden Festival, after all. YAWN! I am not a gardener, but I love flowers….there really wasn’t anything here to interest me.
Stopped all through FutureWorld to take pictures of the topiaries. They really were cute! But you could tell they had frost issues in the past few weeks. Toured Tinkerbell’s butterfly garden. Last time I was at the Flower and Garden Festival, I had a neck injury (it wasn’t really diagnosed correctly at the time, however). Going through this area was so painful during that trip. Everyone moved everywhere and didn’t care who you were, they would bump you out of their way if they saw a flower or butterfly they wanted to see or photograph! This trip was no different, but I was not in pain – so that was a good thing. All the fairy topiaries were so freakin’ cute!
cC

At some point in time, before I headed into the World Showcase, I stopped at The Art of Disney. An artist was there signing his work – special prints of views all over WDW. Larry Dotson happily signed 2 prints that I purchased, 1 for mom and 1 for me. I had both of these sent back to Pop for package delivery/pickup whatever it is called.
I also stopped at Club Cool to have a little refreshment.
I next headed into the World Showcase with a determined goal in mind, I was going to see things I had not seen before. I was going to take in the sights of the countries and even try to take in some of the shows.
First stop, Canada, where I watched O’Canada. Breathtaking….loved Martin Short!
Second stop, Uk, where I had to get fish and chips for lunch. Normally don’t eat a lot of seafood, but for some reason I really love this stuff – my family cannot seem to pass The UK without stopping for some fish and chips. The line here was extremely long and there were no tables near the water. I strolled around to the back of the shop areas and found a bench to sit on and eat while listening to the Beatles band tune up.

Cont. on next post...

Third stop, France, where I had just missed Impressions, so I moved on.
At this time, I received another mysterious text. This person was getting new tires on their car and it was taking a long time.
Fourth stop, Morocco, where I stopped and listened to Mo’Rockin’ for a few minutes and also took a picture of myself in a silly hat!
Fifth stop, Japan, where I took pictures of the many different bonsai trees on display.
ry%3D400

Sixth stop, United States, where I caught the tale end of the Voices of Liberty. At one point they asked everyone to yell what state they were from. I waited until everyone yelled and then I yelled Georgia – the whole place laughed and the singers all turned around to see who had done that! LOL
I had never seen The American Adventure before – at least not that I could remember. So, turned off the phone and headed in. What a great show….
Seventh stop, Italy, where I stopped to watch a mime performer who was pretty funny.
As I headed to my Eighth stop, Germany, I remembered to turn my phone back on and now I had a missed call from the mysterious #! Luckily they left me a voice mail too! It was MANDY!! A friend of mine from DWT and the Disney Forums. Had first met her in person a few years back when she joined my moms with no kids trip. She was just starting college then and now she is a teacher – WOW!!! All grown up!!!
I really wanted to get my picture with Snow White, but she was leaving, so I called Mandy back and she was at the entrance of Epcot, so I walked around and met her in Norway.
Ninth stop, and out of order, but who cares, right? Norway, rode Malestrom with Mandy while we chatted and caught up with each other. It was about a 20 minute wait.
Tenth stop, Mexico, where Mandy and I had our picture taken with the Caballero Donald Duck! Went inside to ride the boat ride, still chatting and catching up.
Unfortunately, she had to leave after that, as she was meeting her friend Paul (I know him too!) for dinner, somewhere in Orlando, but not WDW. So I walked with her to the front of the park and parted ways. Must be nice to have an annual pass to WDW and be able to come here anytime!
cC

I decided to take in a little Spaceship Earth, but it didn’t take my picture – so sad!
Went to customer relations to get my birthday button and then called to check in with the parents.
Finally used my FP that I had grabbed at Test Track earlier in the day – I love riding this at night!
Walked through MouseGears and decided I didn’t feel like staying for Illuminations that night. It was about 8pm, and I just didn’t have it in me to hang around for another hour.
While heading to my busstop, I had a change of heart….no, not to go back into Epcot, but to head to Downtown Disney! I went over to the bus stop for Saratoga Springs just as a bus pulled away! Oh well, got the next one in about 15 minutes. Man, this place is HUGE! I would get so confused with all the stops and all the buildings! I finally just got off at one of the stops, thinking I would find where the boats were, but the next bus pulled up and it was a Downtown Disney bus – so I just jumped on that.
Walked through the Christmas store – I love this place – but I didn’t purchase anything. I was determined to do something new….eat at The Earl of Sandwich. I have heard lots of good things about this place, so I got in line! It was almost 8:30pm, and the line was really long, but it moved pretty fast. I got The Cannonballs (a meatball sub), some chips and a drink. I thought about getting some dessert, the cupcakes looked good. But I didn’t end up getting one, thought I would get something at Goofy’s Candy Company.

I sat at a table with some other ladies, and filled out my postcards that I had the characters signed for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal – it was so good! Glad I didn’t get dessert, I was full! Read a little of my book so that I could rest my feet a little while longer.
I shopped around a little, poking my head into Pooh’s Corner and the Everything $10 stores – but didn’t buy anything. Goofy’s Candy Company was packed, and I was so packed, I couldn’t think of anything good in there at the time – so I passed it by. Headed to the Scrapbook store where I had mailed postcards before. Well, they no longer do that – but they do at The World of Disney. No way am I walking all the way over there to mail the postcards – I will do that later!
Took a bus back to Pop, grabbed a bottle of water from the machine and was in bed before midnight.

I was up and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios right after opening. I never have seen the opening show here. I had my photopass picture taken in front of the BAH and then booked it over to Toy Story Mania. I got a FP for later and then got in line for what was listed as a 25 minute wait. This gave me a chance to see the queue, as Kaitlin and I only rode it via FP back in October.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Pretty soon I heard my favorite phrase of the trip “Any single riders?”!! I walked past about 20 people to get on. Tried to take a picture of my score, but I couldn’t get the angle and my flash to work together.
Next I went over to The Tower of Terror and attempted to get a FP, oh yeah, I already had one! Oh well, over to Rock’n’Roller Coaster and into the single rider line. After this very fast ride with almost no wait, I went back to ToT, where the wait was 45 minutes. I decided to just head back to TSM and use my FP there.
ry%3D400

HighSchool Musical was going on in the courtyard, so I went around and right into The Great Movie Ride. And when I say straight on – I mean, inside and into the big doors. The CM tried to get me into the row with 4 other people, but the back 2 rows of the car were empty with no one in line behind me. So, I was able to convince him to just let me have a row to myself!
ry%3D400

This CM commented that he better not see himself on the internet - I told him he might make it into my trip report....he did, but I didn't get his name!
ry%3D400

Next, FP time on TSM, where I scored higher, but I don’t remember what my scores were.
Next stop was the Animation Tour – but I skipped the tour to head straight to the drawing class! Had to wait there a little while as they had just closed the doors to the first class. There was this family waiting with this annoying kid that just kept hacking or sneezing every 2 minutes – never covering his mouth! I made sure to get a seat NO WHERE near this family once we were inside. In this class we drew Tigger! Mine actually sorta, kinda looked like him!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

By the time I made it back out to the BAH I noticed the cheerleaders had hit the park en masse! I decided to leave and took a boat over to EPCOT.
In through the International Gateway. I love entering Epcot here, it is so calm and you feel like you are sneaking in or something. I went in to see the film in France, loved it! The country is just so beautiful! Why are people talking throughout this whole film? Is your conversation so important it couldn’t wait 20 minutes? Then go have it outside!
Of course the exit dumps you into the shop where I finally get the shirt for Kaitlin that I told her about the other day. I wanted to get a snack at La Patisserie, but the line was SUPER LONG!
ry%3D400

cont. on next post

Took a stroll the long way around the World Showcase, stopping to take pictures along the way. Stopped for awhile in China to take pictures of all the Zodiac topiaries. I still haven’t seen the film here and didn’t that day either – something for the next trip!
I wanted to stop in Mexico for a churro – remember, no snack in France, I was hungry! The line at the stand was almost wrapped around to the front of the World Showcase – no churro for me!
I then went to Innoventions for the Disney Visa Picture. Remember I had gone here the other day – but had forgotten my Visa card – so this was take 2! Had my picture with Mickey and Pluto. I asked if I could have my picture taken of me kissing Pluto’s nose….all my pictures were looking all too similar…it turned out pretty cute!
Stopped in the picture center and picked up my free print and then left EPCOT, taking a monorail over to The Magic Kingdom.
ry%3D400

I stopped in Casey’s to get a hotdog. This was a promise to a friend of mine who could not believe I had never had a Casey’s hotdog. Had to stand in line for forever as there was a guy in front of me that was having the hugest order and everyone was having to wait for french-fries. I love that you have cheese sauce on the fixin’s table here. I lucked up and got a table inside in front of the big tv and enjoyed watching some cartoons while I enjoyed my hotdog, fries and lemonade!

I then headed over to Fantasyland to see Mickey’s Philharmagic – should this be named for Donald? I then saw Peter and Wendy so I got in line to have my photo taken. My cousin, Mark, who lives just outside of Orlando called and we made arrangements to meet at DTD for dinner at 7pm – we were going to TRex!
Wow, Peter must not have been in a good mood, he was really unfriendly to me (I am putting that in as PC a way as I can). I was tempted to stop in Town Hall to make a comment about him!
Had to walk around the castle as a show had started and had to walk through the smoking area – gag!

Flag lowering ceremony.

Got on a bus back to POP! Picked up my package from Art of Disney and got a plastic bag to fill with ice to soak my feet for a little while!
Back to the room to freshen up and soak feet. Left the room about 6:20 to head to DTD. Met Mark at the entrance to TRex and waited and waited and waited. Mark had checked us in before we got there. They had told him the wait could be up to an hour! Well, it certainly would have been shorter if the parties that we kept hearing called over and over again had responded. The same party, let’s call them Smith, party of 11, was called for over 30 minutes for their table. In my opinion, if you do not respond within 15 minutes, you have lost your place in line! This went on and on. I was about to go up to the podium to let them know that this party of 2 would gladly sit at that table for 11! At least the waiter would not have an empty table for an hour!
We were finally seated (55 minutes) in the Ice Cave. The place was pretty cool, but also pretty loud – be prepared! Our server was very nice, I can’t remember his name, but I do remember that he and some of his friends were taking a cruise soon! We sat next to this wall that turned out to be a door that lead to the controls for the animatronics! Mark dared me to go in – but I never did!
We ordered dinner, I had a chicken sandwich that was pretty good, Mark had the ribs plate and it must have been good as he cleaned his plate.
They encourage you to walk around and look at everything – there is a meteor shower every 20 minutes!
The food was very good and so was the company! The service too, 2 thumbs up! Unfortunately we had no room for dessert, everything sounded so good! I promised Mark that the next time I was down there, the visit would include sundaes at Ghiradelli!

Our great server - need to zoom in on that nametag!

We parted ways and I did a little shopping at The World of Disney. I had forgotten to bring the postcards with me to mail and I had forgotten to put the pedometer back on!
Took the bus back to POP! I had to be up early the next morning for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at The Magic Kingdom!

Wow you have done a lot of walking! I'd rather walk at Disney any day than our neighborhood ;) T-Rex looks fun but that was definitely too long of a wait. The food looks scrumptious
