What are you getting your mom for Mother's Day?

I finally thought of something good.

My mom and I are close and see each other every day (when I drop off DS at preschool I hang out with her until it's time to pick him up after lunch).

I recenty started cooking. I have always been a "bad" cook and recently got interested in watching 30 minute meals on the food network. Now I am a GREAT cook (thank you Rachel Ray) and I often cook for my mom and her DH on the weekends.

I am going to print up all of my BEST recipes and give them to her. She likes to cook and I know she will love it .

We also try not to spend a lot of money on gifts in my family. I think my mom has enough "candles".

Anyone else have some good ideas??

Disney Dollars!!!!! We are going to Disney in December so I thought for Mother's Day, Father's Day and both their birthdays I would get them $50. When Disney comes around.... they will each have $100 extra to spend on themselves.

That's so funny! My DH and DS are at the mall getting my gift. I'm hoping they come home with my AP voucher!!!!!!

My gift is rather odd. I live in Nebraska. Mom lives in Indiana.
She is one of those rare people who loves fruit cake. She never buys it for herself.
I had a fruitcake sampler mailed to her from that place in TX that makes good fruitcake.

Since my dear Mom is 86 & lives with me - I know what she has/needs/wants. So, I bought her the large-print dictionary she has been wishing for! I also got her some large print word searches & a novel. Not very glamorous, but she has already received 3 flower arrangements, and it's not even Mother's Day yet! (she has 8 children!)
The funny thing is, DH & I are not even going to be home on Mother's Day - but Mom will be here and my siblings are bringing lunch and visiting with her! (DH is taking me to see MY boys!)

In my Video class we had an assignment to make slideshows...so I made a slideshow of pictures of me, my brother, and 3 of my cousins growing up through the years. I'm giving my mom and my aunt tapes of that.

DH and I are BBQing for my mom, his mom, his step-dad, his grandma, his sister and nephew. We did the same thing a couple of years ago and everyone really enjoyed it.

We get my mom every year...FLOWERS! The ones you plant that is. She LOVES to garden, so anything related to that and flowers she loves. Actually, we went last night and picked some out so I've been planting those today.

momof2OH, Me too. I'm headed out to Donzell's to get a basket of geraniums in a short while.

TC:cool:

Potted tea roses. She plants them in her garden and they come back every year. It's the something I know she enjoys, and they come in assorted colors. :D

Well, she doesn't want to go out to eat because she can't eat.

She has lost so much weight (that she didn't need to lose :( ). I'm running to Marshall Fields and buy her some size 6 somethings. Her clothes are falling off her :( I will probably grab a couple of size 4 somethings too, I fear the 6's will be too large.

My sister got my Mom some lition she likes and a snall flipp book with sayings about "Grandmothers"

I sent flowers with lilies since that is her favorite. DS and I will go this afternoon for him to pick something out.

I sent her 18 roses in various colors; red, yellow, white and pink!

My friend , Angela (who does my hair), works for 1-800 Flowers. No wonder she is soooo busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could not get her during Valentines, either. My hair is brown to my shoulders and blonde the rest of the way down!

Just finished my recipe book. It came out so cool!

My mom's out of town, and won't get home until Sunday night. She won't see me on Mother's Day, but she will see a gift box with a big fancy bow that contains pretty pajamas (perfect for lounging in on weekend mornings), and an arrangement of two dozen coral/yellow roses . All arranged on her dining table so she'll see it as soon as she gets home.

I got my mom a basket with bath accessories, and a shirt. My MIL we got a shirt and a pair of pants...granmothers plants :)

I got my mom a new gas grill that she has been wanting. We'll spend the day together tomorrow shopping and doing my yard work and then DH will cook for us. It's our little tradition.

My mom's in the city to help me get packed up and moved out.. tomorrow we're going to have brunch, then we're going to Hairspray (my 5th time, her second - fun!) then Chicago (first time for both of us) and then out for a nice dinner. :)
