Our neighbor just turned one.
I got her a toddler sled (at Target, http://www.target.com/p/emsco-infant-boggan/-/A-12848202#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=sled ) and a book of 5 minute bedtime Disney stories.
I sent her mom a link for a climber at Toys R Us-- the kind that you keep in your yard year round and use until they're 4 or 5 years old. Not sure whether they'll pick it up or not.
