What are you doing to save money this week? 10/14

i cancelled a magazine subscription and have one more to go (the website was down). i also need to call cable company and remove my "free preview" that is no longer free.

i am off tomorrow and plan on making some veggie broth and soup from frozen veggies i have. i have been trying to eat my way thru my pantry and freezer a bit.

This week I am trying to eat from the pantry/freezer as they are both full.

Today I went to lunch and a movie with my cousin and did not buy anything else while we were at the mall.

I'm getting some great ideas on here :goodvibes

My DS has a doctor's appt. this morning so while I'm out I'm going to stop and pay a bill and go to the library to save gas. I'm also going to take DS to his school book fair when I take him in to school and I have a set budget for what he's allowed to spend.

My kids need more protein in the mornings for breakfast so I found a recipe for homemade egg or sausage mcmuffins that I'm going to pick up the supplies for and make and freeze.

Dh is getting paid more this week than he usually does so I'm using the extra to tackle some medical bills from my DS14's surgery over the summer, it feels good to finally be getting out from under them.

My plans for the morning changed a little bit. I wasn't happy with the plan of taking DS to the book fair after his dr.'s appt. because he missed 4 days with a virus last week so I asked him if he knew for sure which book he wanted and he told me one book he had seen in the flyer (I think he missed the class preview day last week) so I ordered it from Amazon for $2 cheaper and preordered the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. I spent $12 total because I had a $5 GC for Amazon. That's $13 less than the budget I was had for the bookfair and I'm sure he would've found a way to spend all of it if we had gone :rotfl:. I know it would've supported the school, but this time it just wasn't a good time for us.

Since I saved the $13 on that I treated myself to breakfast at McDonald's when I was done with my errands and I'm still $9 ahead for the morning. And DD will be thrilled because I won a free smoothie in the McDonald's monopoly game and she loves them.

We are heading to Food and Wine this weekend so that's not budget friendly but we already prepaid the hotel, and have the cash we plan on using already separated so that's a plus.

This week we are eating all meals at home or packing lunches from leftovers or sandwiches to save money.

My birthday is Thursday but the upcoming trip is my gift so we are celebrating in WDW.

This isn't exactly a saving week but we're trying to not spend a ton of $$. I am selling a bunch of stuff on ebay so that will hopefully offset our spending this weekend.

Today will be the 4th day in a row we eat at home, which lately is probably a record. :P

I bought a 3 pound rump roast that I am going to make sliced roast beef for sandwiches and I'll use one pound of the roast to make soup. We have a slicer from our inlaws so instead of paying $9 pound at deli we will have sliced roast beef for $2.69 pound :thumbsup2
