So when I booked my ressie I was asked if I was celebratng anything. Well I said no but we are there for our anniversary. I saw that I can add a celebration to teh online ressies. So do you add it only to that day or for all ressies of yoru trip?

You may do it for any or all days. The online form asks when the official day is but you can add it for any day you want. I don't think it means you are guaranteed to get anything special except maybe an acknowledgement.

I was confused about this also. My DD and DH have birthdays a few days after we come home from our trip, so I wasn't sure which Adr's to add them to, since it wouldn't be the actual day. I saw another post about this on these boards and someone had asked their CM what would be appropriate and the CM said she would add it to all ADR's. I am guessing the reason was that sometimes the wait staff acknowledges the celebration and sometimes they don't so it gives you a better chance if it is listed on all your ressies. SO, I booked my ADR's online and added the celebrations to all of them. After that I called to make ressies for the luau and the CM asked me what we were celebrating. I told her we had birthdays to celebrate and she said "that would be for your husband and oldest daughter?" I replied yes and we made the reservations. Later I pulled them up online and ALL of my celebrations had been removed from ALL adr's including the luau and in their place it said in bold letters NOT_CELEBRATING. What is that about??? :confused3Do you think she thought we were being greedy by listing on all ADR's?
Kinda hurt my feelings:sad2: She could have just said that I needed to pick one ressie to list the celebration on if that was how it was supposed to be done and that would have been fine with me. I didn't do it expecting to get something special at every dinner, just thought it would increase the chances that they might get some acknowledgement at least once or twice.

Is there any way to add a celebration via online for reservations done over phone?

We are celebrating 2 birthdays. My DD will be 10 and my DM 70. We will be there on the actual days but I also added it to other ADRS. Having been there before on their actual birthdays, I know it's hit and miss whether they do/or say anything.

Yes. If you go to the WDW site and click on "My Disney Vacations" in the upper right-hand corner there is a drop down menu with a link to "Dining Reservations." This page will allow you to retrieve your reservation using your ADR number and your phone number used to make your ADR. Once you retrieve your ADR you can click the option to add a celebration to your ADR.

I have added a celebration to two ADR's without a problem.

I hope that helps.

Hi toothfairy, sounds like a clerical error on her part, please don't hesitate to call back & have your celebrations added back on. When we went for our anniversary trip, we had it listed on all ADR's & that was about 7 of them b/c we went for a week w/ free dining. At 2 or 3 of the restaurants, we had an acknowledgement, heart shaped Mickey confetti at CP, a special table at Cape May. So yes it's hit or miss but definitely have them add it back! It's still fun even if it's just confetti! :wizard:

I entered celebrations on all of my dining ressies only to find that they were gone when logging in later. Think I'll just call the dining line to have a CM add it to each. Seems like their may be a system glitch.

I read somewhere that when you make your resort reservations that if you tell them you will be celebrating, they will have something special in your room when you check in. Can anyone verify this?

BlackPearl, we had a card & balloon delivered to our resort room on one trip. However, this is also "hit & miss" as with special "touches" at meals. We didn't expect anything, so anything that we did receive, was a bonus.

we let them know we are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary--we did tell them our anniversary date-- but i think they have us down for the whole trip as well-- they said we would get anniversary pins when we check in and there would be suprises along the way-- does anyone know what the suprises can be? has anyone experienced anything special during dinning during a anniversary or bday etc meal?

I was able to make my adr's in early July, the first week.

The CM told me I was allowed to choose only one of the TS adr's for my birthday celebration. She said it didn't have to be on the very day of my birthday and could pick which restaurant i wanted it acknowledged at.

She said I could not list it on all my adrs.

When I made my ADRs the CM told me she added our anniversary to all my reservations. When I logged in online, I saw the NOT_CELEBRATING listed as well (our anniversary date isn't during our trip, it is slightly before and I was honest and told her that when I made the ADRs). She said it didn't matter and she'd add them to all the ADRs.

I posted about this awhile ago and someone who actually had a celebration with the actual date during their trip had the NOT_CELEBRATING listed on their ADRs as well. So I don't think the CM was trying to be rude, perhaps it is just a system glitch?

Sorry, nothing good to report for us. We've been in WDW on, or near my DD and DM birthday for about 5 times now and only once did we receive anything-one of the resorts (I think it was POFQ) gave her a special certificate upon check-in. That was all. No cards or anything in the room. And now with everyone "celebrating" something I think you're more likely to not get anything. I bring decorations and do the room while my DM takes my DD out for a walk or to the arcade. Works for us. :goodvibes

I've learned not to rely on anything special, inc. at restaurants as well. If you want something special at a restaurant it's best to arrange it yourself. Then if something extra is done, you'll be pleasantly surprised, unlike me the first time we went to CG and it was on my DM's actual birthday. I had them make a note of it upon making ADR, I verified it when we checked in. CG did nothing to acknowledge her special day with the exception of a birthday dessert-we were on DDP so dessert was inc. anyway. What really bothered me was a table next to us celebrating an anniversay (2 couples) had Mickey confetti on it and they made a big deal about it. I didn't let this bother me during the meal but the next year when we went again, close to my DD's birthday I mentioned it to the CM at the concierge desk at POP while I was making some ADR changes. He called ahead and when we got there they treated us great!:cloud9: We had the best server, window seat, and Mickey confetti. If it's really important that something special is done, have your concierge call, or call the restaurant direct yourself. It worked for us.
