:tinker:I have a child with Aspergers Syndrome (it is on the autism spectrum);), and another with severe life threatening food allergies and asthma (as long as allergies are not triggered he is a very healthy kiddo);).
Well, we are at the 17 days until we get on the plane mark.:cool1: We had been going to Disneyland for Mothers Day (back in May), when my DH heard about the Free Dining offer at DWorld for Sept:lovestruc. He changed some things and voila, Dworld w/free dining in Sept (the flights didn't matter as we are using his earned frequent flyer tix):worship:.
Anyway we were going to celebrate my sons State Championship (he made gymnastics all around 1st place for his division back in April):banana:. We will still be doing that. I made tee shirts that read (on front ) What Will the Hansens Celebrate? on back they read: My Son (or brother) the 2009 NV State Gymnastics Champion Level 4:yay:. As I was reviewing my packing list, today, with my 14 year old aspie (plannaholic) she said, sadly, "mom, why are we only celebrating Nik?" So........Long story short, I have been making tee shirts ALL AFTERNOON LONG.:laundy: We have one celebrating something about each of the 5 members of our family:woohoo:
Jessi (daughter) celebrating her being a cheerleader:cheer2::cheer2:
James (son) celebrating him starting HS this year:cool2:
Daddy Celebrating business goals met:surfweb:
Mom celebrating 15 years with Dad (the shirts say "15 years of Happily Ever After"):tinker:
So, I thought I'd share.......Just a little more magic (and a lot more work and pixie dust) at my house tonight.

Love the shirt idea. My DH and I have our 15th coming up in November. My DS will be starting middle school and other DS finished 4th in an all star tournament, and this will be our 13th trip to WDW in 15 years. Life is good.

Have a wonderful trip when you go. We are 11 days out ourselves.

Congrats on the state championship!!!! :cheer2: My 9 yr. old DD is a gymnast, (hence flipflopmom name) we celebrate just MAKING it to the state championships around here! She's a level 6/7, not sure for this year. She has ADHD, and as a teacher, can only imagine life with a child with Aspergers. Congrats to her on cheerleading! YAY for the whole family!!!!!!!!!! Have a great trip!

We are celebrating LIFE. My two daughters (30 & 29) lost their mother to a brain tumor 8 years ago. The older one has two children, one is autistic, and nearly lost her own life three years ago to double pneumonia. I became disabled three years ago and had to stop working before I wanted to.

Having gone through a lot of trials has made our family very close. So close that we do virtually everything together. We needed a break from reality for a while and couldn't think of a better way to celebrate life than to go as a group to the place where dreams come true.
