What ARE those freaky clown things?

What the heck are those freaky, round clown things that are in SpectroMagic?

We saw this parade at least 4 times on our last visit and each time my granddaughter would ask me what they were and then tell me how scary she thought they were!

I totally agree with her. They ARE freaky and scary!

All I can tell you is that they are called Spectro-Men. Don't really know what their "purpose" is, but I am sure there is a story behind them.

I swear, they look like a cross between that doll in the horror film "Chucky" and that whacked out white masked thing from either "Halloween" or "Friday the 13th" (can't remember which it was).

Very odd choice by Disney to include it in the parade.

I too can't understand why they are any where in Disney and don't know what they have to do with Disney or Spectromagic. I love this parade but don't like them (of course my DH says he likes them!! )

I never thought that they were scary, but I did always think that the glowing faces came across a bit odd. I could see how some little ones might not like it one bit.

OK, it looks like I am in the minority here, but my kids and I like the Spectromagicians and think they are cute (then again, we're not afraid of clowns either!).

If you go to laughingplace.com and look for their description of Spectromagic, they have lots of pictures of them.

Somebody Pleeze correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought when Spectro was first introduced, they were never referred to as clowns, but were similar to pixies. I like 'em, especially the ones that sit on top of the globes.
