What are this alerts notifications?

I have received some alerts notifications when I logged on and i click on them and it states someone wrote a message on my profile...I click on the link and receive the following error on every alert:

The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com - Error
You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.


Any help is appreciated...

Alerts are notices that someone has quoted a post you made, liked a post you made, or posted to your profile page. There may be other reasons that trigger an Alert but those are the most common. I'm not aware that Alerts are restricted to those with 10+ posts, so I'm not sure why you got an error message, but here's a work-around: specific to the one noted above -- go to your profile page to see the post. Click on your avatar in your post above, then click on Profile Page. Profile Posts are also visible on the home page (they are public), on the right hand side are the most current few and if you click Profile Posts it will bring up a whole page of the most recent posts made to anyone's profile.

I will also mention some people have reported "blank" alerts at times. If you receive an alert that says nothing except an asterisk (*) you can ignore it. I'm not sure exactly what triggers those, but my guess is something behind-the-scenes as your account updates.

It seems like the profile post was deleted. That's the message that comes up if you try to bring up a post that was deleted by the moderators. Since the profile posts are public and are being seen on the first page of the DIS when they are new, there might have been something in it that caused a moderator to delete it.
