What are these "pins" I keep reading about?

Sorry if there is already a thread about this. But what are these pin codes I've seen talked about?

A pin code is a discount offer mailed to a specific individual or family, and can only be used by the recipient. The "pin" part stands for personal identification number, usually a 15 digit long number that you need to give to Disney in order to use the discount. Rumor has it they are randomly generated. HTH.
