The last time we were at Disney, they had paper tickets. I believe I've read that now your tickets are on your room card? Would someone please explain. Then what do you do with your tickets when you're at the park? Do you have one person hold them and keep them in their pocket, fanny pack, bag in stroller or ??? Any problem if they get wet?

There are 4 of us, we're staying at the PC, have a 7 day park ticket and are on the DDP. Please help me understand and then tell me where to keep them.

Thanks!

On our last trip we bought a package - room, passes, dining plan - and our room key and our park passes were the same card. You can also give them an imprint of your credit card and have charging priveledges added to your room card as well. In our case, DH usually keeps the passes in his wallet. You can use the passes to get Fast Passes in the parks and it's easier if one person goes to the FP machine with everyone's cards than having everyone get their own fastpass.

If you don't know about fastpass you can read about it here:

My husband held his and the three boys' tickets, and I held my own.

Our reasoning was... He was the "fast pass runner".. He would often go get us fass passes, while we were resting, or eating, or just haning out.. so, he held everyone but mine. I would hand it over for these times. But, I hung onto mine, so we would have one in a seperate spot, just in case he lost the others, so we could get into the hotel room, or eat, (ddp). We never lost them though, and it worked good. Only once did he run off with all five tickets, and I needed my ticket (we just didn't think through how I would pay for the food I was in line for).

So you could use any ticket for the entire family's DDP plan? You didn't need to charge each meal to their individual ticket?

I just want to say :welcome: to the DIS my fellow Wisconsinite!!! You will find a wealth of knowledge here!! I must say if the last time you were in Disney with paper tickets it must have been a while ago. But yes the tickets to come on your key card. We have done in the past one person holds on to all the cards and runs and does the fast pass when needed. Any other questions just ask this is a great place to find all sorts of Disney knowledge!! Good luck planning!! And have a great time in Disney!! Oh and the :disrocks:

I know you can basically use your room key for anything in the parks. They count as your ticket to the park, you use them to get a fastpass (ticket that lets you "cut" the line at a certain time during the day). Your DDP point are stored on them, and as I understand, you can use ONE card to pay for everyone's meal if you are dining together, or seperate if you are going different places. You can also charge items bought in the parks to your card and pay the bill when you leave the resort. So it's pretty cool that you can do all this with one little card.

That is correct.

We never attempted using the kids' tickets, but it didnt' matter if between the two adult tickets.

Yes, this is correct. One person can use one card to "pay" for all your meals. It doesn't matter which card you use, all the DDP's are grouped together.

Also TIP: when they print the receipt it will show you at the bottom how many credits you have left. It's a nice way to help you keep track of how many you have spent.

I also recommend checking out the Restaurant forums here. There's a board just for the Dining plan with an FAQ thread and lots of info if you're interested.

Thanks for the info.

My husband believes (as many Disser's husbands believe) I'm addicted to this site! I'm on it every day reading. We'll be there from 10/19 - next Thursday! - through 10/28. I've got my ADR's all made and made notes on the best CS's to go to. Last night I read my notes before bed and my husband walked in and rolled his eyes. Planning makes perfect, right?

This time next week, we'll be at MGM instead of 34 degree Wisconsin. I can't believe it!
