What are the odds....

Due to some medical issues, our family has had to change all our vacation plans this summer. To try and make up what we've lost, my DW suggested we try and get into WDW the week after Christmas for a few days to cheer us up.

DVC support told us every DVC resort was completely booked that week for any studio or 1 bedroom but suggested we put ourselves on a waiting list at BCV.

What would you guess are the odds anything would open up at this late date?????

You've still got time for folks to have to change their plans. People tend to book this week year after year but may find, as they get closer to the date, that they won't be able to travel. If your dates don't include 12/31 you probably have a chance of still getting something. I'm not sure how you usually travel but if you fly, you might want to take a look at the air fares before setting your sites on tihs plan -- could be a case of sticker shock

Sticker shock is right. I've already looked at Jet Blue and for the three of us it will be about $1700 out of NYC area. But of all the many times we've gone, we have never been there during a major holiday and we decided the heck with the cost, we need this trip!!

Keep up the wait list but I would call on occasion as well. Im booked 12/24-01/03 BWV SSR and BCV. I was on with MS today and she said all is booked the last week of dec. I own at SSR and booked that for my whole trip, then I was able to get BWV for the first 5 days by calling MS and having them check. You probably wont get all the days at once but you may be able to get them one or two at a time depending on how long you are going for and if you would be willing to move during the stay. I dont mind moving so I have been chipping away at what I want, but I call often. Good luck and make sure you catch the osborn lights. There's nothing like chritsmas time at WDW.

If you REALLY want to go, I'd get off of the BCV waitlist (small resort) and get yourself on the SSR and OKW waitlist (largest)
