What are the Dole Whips?

I know it may sound silly but I'm dying to know what a Dole whip is and where do I get them? Everyone has said they are sooo good so I'd really like to try one. Also, can anyone tell me what MNSSHP is? I've seen this abbreviation a few times but I couldn't figure it out. thanks everyone!

Dole Whips are pineapple soft serve ice cream!!! I like it swirled with vanilla. You get them at a stand called Aloha Isle, located at the MK in Adventureland.

Dole Pineapple "whipped" (with a blender) into soft-serve ice cream.
And it is VERY good!
I have known folks who don't really care for pineapple alone, go for one of these treats.

We actually build-in a trip to the Dole-Whip kiosk in our WDW itinerary.
Plus, if we just "happen" to pass by at another time... we have been known to pause for another serving.

Its along the right-hand buildings in Adventureland not too far past the main entrance from the HUB.

Enjoyed our dole whips last week, you can get pineapple, vanilla, chocolate or a swirl combo - we had ours with coloured sprinkles-very refreshing.

It's not ice cream, though. I know this because DH is lactose intolerant and we asked at Aloha Isle if it's dairy free and it is! So, it's very low in fat (possibly fat free?) and delicious. It's kind of like soft serve sorbet. YUMMY!!!!!!!!

Last year my DS3 had a meltdown waiting for the Jungle Cruise. It was so bad I had to get out of line and find a quiet place to sit with him. The next thing I knew my mom shows up with a Dole Whip, boy did that make us feel better!!

Ever since we tried Dole Whips (after hearing about it on these boards) we make it a "must stop" on each trip. My oldest DD can't miss it.

Dole Whips are low in fat? I guess next time I will have to get more than one. I am such a big pineapple fan and these are just heaven to me. Can't wait for my next one.

Get this...pineapple juice with dole whip in it, either vanilla, pineapple or swirl. I love the vanilla float; cuts the sweetness of the pineapple. MMMM my mouth is watering!

BTW, DH (pin collector) is looking for an Aloha Isle or a Dole Whip pin. Has anyone seen such? It's such a beloved treat, I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen a pin yet!

Regarding the comment that Dole Whips are dairy free. My DS has a severe dairy allergy and the response from the manufacurer is inserted below. It does contain sodium caseinate which is a dairy derivative. We chose to avoid this product for our son.

"Thank you for your inquiry. Our Dole soft serve contains sodium caseinate. According to FDA regulations, products with sodium caseinate can promote themselves as being "dairy free". Our product is formulated very similarly to nondairy coffee creamers, which also contain sodium caseinate. The dry mix Dole formula contains less than 2% sodium caseinate and the liquid formulation contains less than a half of a percent of sodium caseinate.

We rarely hear of allergic reactions to sodium caseinate products. Sodium caseinate, while a dairy derivative, undergoes such processing that it retains few attributes of a true dairy product. Reactions to this level of sodium caseinate suggest that an individual's milk allergies are severe.

You may want to discuss these percentages with your family physician to determine whether the allergy is severe enough to cause a reaction.

Please don't flame me....

....but I think dole whips are just OK. After reading everyone's rave reviews, I thought that I simply must have one or my life wouldn't be complete. After I tried it, I thought "Huh. Is that it? It's just pineapple flavored soft serve, and it's not even that pineapple-y."

Anyhow, I don't want discourage anyone from trying them, but maybe I would have been more impressed if my expectations weren't so high. The floats <i>do</i> look awfully good and maybe I'll try one of those on my next trip.

That's my absolute favorite treat at WDW. I think I would rather have that than a Mickey bar. I'm going to have to try the orange version this time, though. But of course, the pineapple one is fine by me.

Dole Whips RULE! So do the pineapple floats. Just a word of warning the orange ones are not NEARLY as good! Way too tart when I had it!
