What are the current incentives/contract expiration dates??

We just just added on at AKV, and closed Sunday August 10th. Since our add on is for Kidani (which once Kidani opens, Kidani and Jambo House will be together, whoever owns at AKV can go to either one), we can not use our points until after Kidani opens (May 1, 2009), but we will get the points on our use year which is October (2008).

The incentives we were offered for 160 points was:

$1,000 Visa Gift Card
$8 off each point ($1,280 which can be used towards down payment)
5 night (1 bedroom) stay at either Saratoga or AKV, if chosing Saratoga you can make the reservations now for 7 months out, or if chosing AKV you have to make the reservations for May 1st or later (but no longer than 11 months out).
Fast Passes (good with your free 5 night stay, everyone in your room will receive 3 passes each day, for 5 days)

Did you buy at Doorway to Dreams?

I spoke to my guide about an AKV add-on two days ago. I was told for purchasing at least 100 points we would receive the following:

$8 off per point
$500 Visa Gift Card
Equivalent amount of developer points for SSR that must be used within 12 months of our purchase date

We will also receive $500 Disney Dream Rewards Dollars if we put our deposit on our Disney Visa.

This answers my question and is consistent with previous information posted here on the Dis. I called today and the guide I spoke to (our assigned guide was off today) said that the ONLY incentive I am eligible for with an INITIAL 100 point buy in at AKV is the $8/point discount. She said "nope" when I asked specifically about the referral incentive and use of the Disney Visa and "nope" to the developers points. She then told me that those incentives are only available for those who purchase 160 points or more.:snooty: Wow, I felt like a second-class citizen since I only need 100 points and can only afford 100 points. I know, it makes complete sense that you should get better incentives with a bigger purchase, but I don't understand how 100 points as an INITIAL buy in is less valuable than a 100 point ADD-ON?:confused3 If anything, I would think the initial buy in would just encourage addonitis! Sorry, not trying to offend anyone. It just seems like there is a lot of inconsistency with who gets what incentives. It's almost like the random pin codes!:rotfl: Ok....enough of my venting....:hippie:

current ADD-ON incentive until Sept 20: www.dvcfriends.com/summerincentive

AKV:
100 pts gets:
$500 GC
$8 off per point to be used as part of down payment
100 developer points

200 pts gets:
$1000 GC
$8 off per point to be used as part of down payment
200 developer points

I am beyond FURIOUS. This arrived in todays mail which meant it went out this week from FL. My guide told me I HAD to go to Doorway to Dreams to get this incentive and his manager wouldn't approve this exact same flipping deal! That was WEDNESDAY! I already left him a VM saying I want a darn good explanation for my lost time and wasted gas.

Some have posted that they weren't allowed to get both the $500 Visa gift card and $500 Dream Reward Dollars, it was one or the other. If both is a for sure thing, I'd call right now and add on points.....

okay how much is each pt. cost at AKV with this new deal?? I got this same information in the mail today.

Have you talked to your guide? Our guide told my dh and me that we'd get both on 3 separate calls. The 3 main incentives (the discount, Visa gift card and developer points) are available to everyone. The $500 DDRD are an added incentive if you use your Chase Disney Visa for the deposit. :thumbsup2

I even went so far as to ask my guide if we'd have both $500 incentives to use in time for our Christmas trip. She said the Visa gift cards are sent within 4-6 weeks, but that we need to allow 4-5 billing cycles for the reward dollars to appear on our statement.

I would also imagine all of the incentives would need to be listed on any paperwork we'd sign for an add-on, right?

HTH!

I was just there on Wednesday and took the tour. What I was offered was the following;
AKV min of 160 pts at $104/pt with the $8/pt incentive to be used for downpayment.
I was also offered a match of points purchased to be used in the first year which I guess is what is called the developer points.
No offers of additional gift cards which makes me think I was not offered the best deal.
Supposedly this was only being offered until I left which was yesterday but no way was I going to make a decison that quickly. Have not decided whether to purchase or not.

I never heard of a deal expiring like that, but it could. Would you like my guide's name and number to ask him? He might give you a different answer than the one you originally spoke to. Worth a shot, right? Just let me know and I will pm you his name and number. He is fabulous!!!

We left WDW on 8/10 after taking the tour at SSR on 8/9. I called our guide on Monday and left a message but he wasn't in til Thursday. When he called me Thursday he tried to tell me that the deal expired 3 days after you check out. So I told him that made my decision easy, cause without incentives we couldn't justify the purchase. He back pedaled quickly and gave us the incentives for 2 more days to make the decision. We decided to buy in today. I'm not sure if they really would have taken them away from us after a certain point or not... I'm guessing you could still get the incentives if they thought you were serious and it was a dealbreaker.

Good luck!

This is what's keeping me on the fence as well. :(

We just added on 100 pts at AKV Kidani Village. We got $8 incentive pp, $500 gift card (we were told it was one or the other -couldn't also get the $500 Disney rewards incentive) and 100 pts to use at either SSR, DLV in California, or interval international within the calendar year. We would not start paying dues until May 1, 2009. Hope this helps.

I think the 100 AKV promo right now that I got yesterday in the mail (did not buy) is really good. It was discussed on here. I mean....you get 100 developer to use at SSR, you get the 500 buck gift card and you get the credit to use as your down payment. :thumbsup2

I live about 3 hours from the Doorway to Dreams store in Chicago. Since I was already told over the phone that the ONLY incentive a NEW 100-point contract receives is $8/point discount, is it worth my while to drive down there and check it out? I want to go anyways, just to see the models and eat at Rainforest Cafe, so the cost of the "trip" is irrelevant. I'm just curious as to whether or not there are better incentives offered if you visit in person. FWIW, I would be willing to put money down then and there towards our purchase.

To anyone that has recently bought in with a NEW 100 point contract, have you received ANYTHING besides the $8/point discount? It seems like the incentives are so varied. If that's all there is, than great, I am OK with that. When I had the nerve to ask a guide about anything additional available to me, she asked me where I heard I might be entitled to more. :snooty:

This is what's keeping me on the fence as well. :(

And the new booking policy, the possibility of better incentives after 9/20, ticket prices.... :headache:

I'm calling my guide tomorrow - I'm curious to see if I'll get the 'either or' scenario for the $500 gift card.

Kristen ~ Hopefully someone will chime in that has received more than the $8 off. :thumbsup2

I just put a call into my guide but he is one of the guides that does the cruises and will be back into the office on Wed. I really wish he had been there. I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. :goodvibes

please read thread #38 :cheer2:

Is the 100 pt an add on only option for current members, or do they let new members buy in at that level?

TIA
