We are planning a trip to WDW in 2008 and batting around either late Sept. or mid Dec. I am leaning towards Sept because the weather seems like it would be more consistant and we could use the pool more often. What are the crowds like at this time of the year? I assume that since school is in and most parents would hesitate to take their kids out 3-5 weeks into school that there are not as many poeple. Is this true? ARe there any better time of the year to go? My kids are homeschooled so we do''t have to worry about school vacations (except avoiding everyone else's).

Thanks for the expertise and imput.

:welcome: Welcome to the DIS!

September is (in general) the month with the smallest crowds at WDW.

We went last September and it was awesome. There were hardly any lines. In fact, we rode Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mtn and when we pulled back in to the loading area they told us that if we wanted to ride again just stay seated. It was awesome. The weather was still really hot but that's what the pools are for! I don't think you can go wrong with September!

September is great! No lines:cheer2: But, the heat and humidity are bad, so be sure to take breaks and stay hydrated.

It is the height of hurricane season, which is probably why the crowds are lower. The weather is no guarantee. Last year was peaceful, year before was not. That said, I went in Sept and had a good trip, but I live in the HOT south. The weekends were still packed with local visitors, I won't do that part again.

It's my absolute favorite time to go. The crowds are practically non-existant, the weather is still hot, you're able to ride everything with virtually no wait.

I think it has less to do with hurricane season, and more to do with parents not wanting to take their kids out of school as soon as it starts. Mine always did though, and it worked out fine. After working at the parks from August til January this past year, the end of September is a great time to visit.

we went the last week of september last year and the crowds were great, the only time we saw a lot of crowding was on the weekend which was the first weekend of the food and wine festival.

We were there the last week of Sep, it was also free dining plan. The smallest crowds we have ever had. Before that we went 4 times in jan and the corwds werre low the longest lines were 45 min. It is much warmer in sep 80-90. I would choose sep

Love Sept! It is hurricane season like another posted. Our last few Sept trips have been good, but we have had some with bad weather. One trip, hurricane was coming and they were putting bags of sand by the doors at the Contemporary. When we left, all the toll booths were open to ride through. The rain was terrible going home.
