Our DD measures at 44 inches in the morning barefoot but at like 4pm barefoot she measures 43.66ish. I am asking what are the chances she will be able to ride the rides that are 44 inches?

It will not make or break our vacation. We have a back up plan if she can not ride. We will just skip it entirely (well myself, husband and her/ our friends who are joining us will ride) and we are okay with that. We have told our DD that she may not be able to ride and if she can't we will take her to do a special activity of her choosing.

I was just wondering if anyone on here had any experience with the same thing.

She will more than likely be just fine, since she will be measured with shoes on.

Yes, being measured with her shoes can help her meet the height requirement. Two other tips - 1.) ride the rides with 44" ride requirements (not too many of those) in the morning and 2.) Make sure you tell her to stand up straight when they measure. Some kids have tendency to slouch so the measuring stick doesn't touch their head but you want it to do that since it will show she is tall enough.

We had a similar situation a few years ago at DLR... I had DD "practice" standing tall for the measurement, which really helped. She knew the goal was to have flat feet but have her head touch the bar. We put her in tennis shoes as we normally would for a long day of walking, so no flat sandals. In the mornings she was just fine getting on rides but as pp mentioned by the evening the spine compresses and she didn't make a couple rides at night. Anything she really wants to go on, do early in the day!

hey, worked at a 44" ride (mission: space) and i will tell you that basically they have to stand under it and touch it. if she is in shoes and almost hitting it, she should be ok. practice standing tall, that will help more than anything. it's hard to get kids to do that. and, expect to be measured more than once obviously. they might clear at the outside check, but inside could catch it otherwise.
