We are travelling with family for the first time next year. I booked a 2BR and Studio and MS told me they would note that we are traveling together. Do you think that checking in earlier would be our best chance of getting those rooms near each other or doesn't that matter? Are there any 2BR and Studios next to each other? :)

Depends on the resort. Some seem to pre-assign the rooms and others assign them when you get there.

The last two times that I mentioned the fact that we would like to be near, it did happen. I mentioned it at booking only. Both times were at VWL. It also has happened for us at BWV. There were times at VWL when we were on different wings of the resort on different floors, but this year, it worked. I hope you get villas near each other.

Twice at OKW we requested that the units be near each other and they were in the same building just different floors.

I always try to check in early when I have special request. You probably won't get your room until later in the day; but I've always had good luck.

If there are 8 or more members in your party, you can register for a "grand gathering", and your rooms will be close to one another.

I have always received this request when travlling with mulitple families/rooms at all DVC resorts to date. We have requested this many times exactly as you have noted: 2 BRV and a studio close to one another, and we have never had a problem. But, it does usually delay the rooms being ready early so dont be suprised if you don't get into your room until around 4pm.

Thanks all. We only have 7 in our party, so no Grand Gathering. :sad2: We probably won't be checking in until 3 or 4 anyway, so we will cross our fingers for rooms close together.
