What are the chances? Worth a shot?

Had an unexpected opportunity to take my grandson to Disney in December in conjunction with my DS#1 and DIL's 2nd anniversary trip and my 25 year old daughter will now be joining us! So excited!!

BUT would so LOVE to take the little guy (and the rest of the fam) to Chef Mickey's for Breakfast one morning. We're there in mid December. I've had NO luck with online reservations and have been lurking around the December cancellations thread, again without any luck.

Has anyone tried to just show up to the restaurant without an ADR and be seated? Is that even worth a try? I've never done that before, always had ADR so not sure if that's even allowed.

What do you think?

i'm sure it's 'allowed' but probably not possible. Chef Mickey's is the hottest ticket in town, so to speak. Good luck.

Conventional wisdom regarding walk-ups is to try 15 minutes before they open for a particular meal. So if the Contemporary is convenient for you, it's certainly worth a try, but if schlepping to Chef Mickey's just to get turned away is going to eat up a big portion of your day it's probably not worth it.

If you're staying on-site you can ask the concierge to check every day for an opening. You can also keep trying online- people report much better luck when they plug in a time rather than just trying "breakfast."

I'd go for it, but keep trying at the concierge desk too. When we were there in September, I stupidly booked CM for the evening of the day we flew home instead of our last evening there. I only realised this 3 days before the event!!! Concierge desk were brilliant and managed to find us another opening at Cm. OK, we had to be flexible with the time, but we still got in.
Definitiely try beforehand because we saw people being turned away as walk-ups time and time again.

Thanks to all my DIS Friends! Crossing my fingers it works out - even more important to me - the little guy was admitted to the hospital yesterday - they can't figure out what's wrong with him but he's pretty sick.
Would appreciate if everyone would keep a good thought! He's my heart!
