UPDATE

OMG ok aunt called- was able to get us into Old Key West in a 2 bedroom villa for the entire stay of the 2-11th

Tell me everything about Old Key West- PLEAAAAAAASE

If you knock your pop ressie down to 1 night, you only lose 100$ which is about the cost of 1 night.. just a thought.
Did you see this earlier suggestion? If you CHANGE your reservation first, making it only a one night stay, I think you can then call back and CANCEL the reservation and only be charged for the one night rather than the $200. I'm not sure of the timeframe in which this must be done (how many days out), but it is a way to save a little $.

Congrats on securing the reservation! =)

Wonderful!!
OKW is a very big resort. They are townhouse type units, 2 or 3 floors. The main pool, store, Olivia's restaurant, bar, community hall are called Hospitality House. The units closest to HH are a separate booking category, so you might ask your aunt just in case she booked there (or you could ask her to see if this category is available if you are interested). There are also quiet pools scattered around the resort. Buses make stops around the resort and those buses stop at HH, so even if you are not near HH you can get there easily, even if you don't want to walk and you don't have a car.
When you see the size of the 2 bedroom you will be blown away. Huge. You will have your own washer and dryer, complete kitchen, a jacuzzi and a nice size balcony with a table and 4 chairs. Many of the units at OKW have just been updated so I would definitely ask Aunt to request one of those. Have you seen the photos here?:

If you have made ADRs and want to keep the dining plan, you will have to pay for it. Your aunt can call ahead and you will need to pay ahead.
Have a magical trip!

Never stayed at OKW (yet), but you will know in the first half day why people say DVC changes the way you vacation.

Enjoy!

so what you are saying is I would be a complete moron to turn the offer down lol

With a kitchen do you find the dining plan unnecessary? We do still plan on doing a few character meals with the kids

um- so silly but, how/when do you buy park tickets?

If you don't mind cooking while on vacation, you can save a ton of money (lots more than the cost of the dining plan) by eating in your villa...even w/a few character meals "thrown in"...

The store at OKW has a small (but decent) selection of frozen entrees, eggs/milk/sandwich fixings/bread/cereal/soups, etc. Or you can order groceries to be delivered ... (I think wegoshop.com is the place most DVCers use? It gets rave reviews. But I've never done this so I'm guessing...someone else will weigh in for sure, tho)...

You can buy your park tickets at the concierge counter at check-in...they can add them to your room keys, or issue them separately, as you prefer...you can also buy them at a small discount from Undercover Tourist (or another discount ticket source), but you may be out of time for that...not sure...I've bought from UT before and the tickets come very quickly...but not sure the 5% (or so) savings would be worth "the anxiety" of wondering if they'd arrive on time...

We absolutely LOVE OKW...as mentioned, the villas are huge ... the resort amenities are great (the feature pool is wonderful; there's a community hall w/kid activities plus games; the neighborhood pools are really nice, too)...in our experience, the buses to the parks were great...

Have a terrific, wonderful time!

Congratulations! OKW is our favorite (stayed there 25 times so far), and we'll be there 2 of the nights you will. Have a great time!

should we ask Aunt to request a refurbed room?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Most of the buildings have been redone already, and even those that have not are lovely to stay in. At this point, you're so close to your arrival date that it might not make much difference.

What an awesome aunt! I also agree with the pp who said that once you stay in a villa, it is hard to go back to value. Enjoy your stay at OKW!

I don't know if this pertains to ypur package, but we had to cancel very last minute due to illness once and the cast member asked if we had any other trips planned? We could move our deposit to the other time and not lose anything!
Have a great time at OKW!

If you haven't already purchased your tickets, you need to check out this thread on the Budget Board. I checked your dates & there are still some classes open during your dates. When you sign-up for a YES program you are eligible to purchase VERY discounted tickets direct from Disney.

Here is the thread link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2332767&highlight=yes

Here is the link to the info at the Disney site: http://www.disneyyouth.com/register/?location=WDW&program=individual-enrollment

Have a magical time!

EDIT - I forgot to take into account your childrens ages. There is only 1 class you can take & get the discounted tickets. It is offered on 2/7 at 8:15AM & is called How Things Move. I know it is early, but the park tickets you can purchase worth it!

Thank you!

Everything is SET

I have the reservation number BUT our last name is spelled wrong by one letter- is this something that I can take care of on my own- or do I need to bother my Aunt tomorrow?

We ended up buying the dining plan through her- we had all of our ADRs already set and dont feel like cooking meals (other than breakfast- cant wait to do that and take advantage of the kitchen)

I cancelled our other reservation and should hopefully be refunded in the next 7-10 days (fingers crossed)

What does the room come with as far as tolietries? Are they replaced each day like a normal resort? Is there housekeeping? Does the room come with coffee or should we bring some with us? Can we buy cream and sugar at the general store there?

Thanks again for all your help!
