Hi, everyone. We will be in Orlando next week and will be splitting our time between WDW and Univeral Studios and Islands of Adventure. While I know my way around WDW well, it has been years since I have been to Universal and I have never been to I of A. I will be travelling with my girls who are 11, 8, and 4. What attractions at these 2 parks should I be putting at the top of my list? We will have 1 day at each park and while I realize we may not get to everything, I would love to know what we should be making a bee-line for. popcorn:: TIA!

These are my favorite rides at the park, so your milage may vary.

Universal Studios
Mummy (Rather scary and intense)
T2:3D (Very loud and a bit frightening)
Shrek 4D (Funny, but the pre-show room is a bit dark.)
Disaster! (Christopher Walken is worth going to see it)
Jaws (Can be frightening if scared of sharks)
Simpsons (Amazingly hilarious ride)
MIB (My favorite shooter attraction anywhere)

Islands of Adventure
Hulk
Spiderman (AMAZING)
Popeye (You will get drenched)
Jurassic Park (Dark; can get rather scary)
Dueling Dragons (Hard to find due to HP construction. Follow the signs.)
The Cat in the Hat (One of my favorite dark rides ever)

Hope this helped you!

Check out the website and the interactive maps to get a general layout of the parks. Then...make your list and check YouTube for ride videos to see if that attraction is something you want to see.

Must do Popeye and then everytime you talk about a water ride, you can use the degree of wetness by referring to it as..."I tell you I was Popeye wet." Never gotten so wet in my life, but also lots of fun.

so right!

this is the best way for newbies to UO to get a lot of info on the parks, rides, shows, meets and basic info.

Islands of Adventure

Spiderman (amazing- best 3d ride/ experience i have had)
The Hulk
Popeye (it makes the river rapids at animal kingdom look pathetic- never been wetter. note to self bring extra clothes or do it in the heat of the day so you dry off)
