We are going to Disney and picking our ADRs. We have a group of 6 and are going to have base tickets (no hoppers). I'm looking for good restaurants in the resorts (where no park ticket is needed).

We have mixed generations (older grandparents and elementary kids and preschooler). I thought about splitting up the group but I know for a few meals we would like to eat together.

What recommends can you give on restaurants that accept disney dining (table service) for a larger group that are not in the parks (aka the resorts)?

Thank you  (going to Disney)

Boma @ Animal Kingdom Lodge - very diverse buffet of wonderful food and even if going for dinner, ask for the Jungle Juice
Whispering Canyon Cafe @ Wilderness Lodge - very fun atmosphere and skillet meal is very tasty (more than enough to eat) and smoothies!
Kona @ Poly - always eat way too much... amazing bread, smoothies, even the salad is out-of-this-world-scrumptious, and the chocolate lava cake is outstanding
Big River Grille @ Boardwalk - they don't accept reservations and the food was pretty standard (not great), but dining al fresco on the boardwalk was more than worth our Table Service credit for the day (waving to surrey bikers, watching fireworks from our table, and then walking past the "street" entertainers)
Wolfgang Puck Cafe @ Downtown Disney - we enjoy that place every time we go

Also eaten at and wouldn't necessarily go back to:
Olivia's - smaller and quieter, nice and bright inside
Boatwright's - great cornbread and dessert!!
'Ohana - best dessert on property!

First place that came to mind was Whispering Canyon Cafe. So much fun for the entire family....and the unlimited bbq skillet dinner and unlimited(!) milkshakes were YUM!

In addition to the fine choices listed above, I like Grand Floridian Cafe for events like this. Solid food and service, peaceful area, and killer key lime pie.

Sanaa at Animal Kingdom - Kidani is good also.

Boma
'Ohana
Cape May Cafe

My DH and I do CG everytrip, but we never take our little ones there. Some families do, and it works out. That could be a possiblitly.

We also love Olivia's at OKW. But, 'Ohana is somewhere we go no matter where we're staying and we did Boma twice last summer because it was such a hit. And Cape May is one of our favorites too.

Enjoy!:goodvibes

Our favorites are Kona, Ohana, Boma and Wave.

Cape May Cafe is very good for those that love crab and other seafood.

For your days at Epcot there are numerous choices. I really don't care for the in park dining choices at Studios or Magic Kingdom.

My favorite is the Cape May Cafe, it is a buffet with a big variety. They have snow crab legs, clams, ribs and lots of other choices. By far my favorite buffet at WDW!

In addition to the fine choices listed above, I like Grand Floridian Cafe for events like this. Solid food and service, peaceful area, and killer key lime pie.

Another vote for the Grand Floridian Cafe! Great place. With the dining plan everyone can get the dessert sampler, it's amazing! Even has a solid chocolate Mickey.

Boma is our must do.
Raglan Road isn't at a resort, but it is worth mentioning since it is DTD.

We hope to try Kona and Cape May for Breakfast soon.

I would highly recommend the ESPN Club @ Disney's Boardwalk Inn/Boardwalk Villas. Now they don't accept ADR's however assuming there is no major sporting event taking place you shouldn't have any problems getting a table. Plus if you want to sit at a both in the bar area or a high top table, that side always has open seating if either one is available and that means you can seat yourself.

We really enjoy:
Yachtsman (YC)
Narcooses (GF)
Cape May Clambake (BC)
O'hana (Poly)

And one that I think is underrated but we've always enjoyed it and it's only a QS if you're on the dining plan is the Pepper Market over at Coronado.

Turf Club at SSR
Olivia's at OKW
Kouzzina's at BW
Sanaa at Kidani Village
Jiko/Boma at AKL
Boatwrights at POR
Grand Floridian Cafe at GF

Maya Grill at the Coronado....great food, excellent service, usually not crowded.

We are trying Kona for our next trip...can't wait.

I know you asked for resorts but we also have enjoyed Rainforest Cafe, Portabella Yacht Club, and Wolfgang Puck at DTD.

Poly - Ohanas by far
CR- Chef Mickey
Swan & Dolph- Shulas
BW - Flying fish, & ESPN
WL- Whispering Canyon Cafe...Psst Don't forget to ask for Ketttchuppp...LoL:rotfl2:

I noticed that a lot of you selected resorts... Do you only eat at these place when you are staying there or do you find time to go in between visiting parks? Just curious. ;)

It depends. If its a MK day, being that we're over by those resorts, we try n choose Ohanas or WCC. Chef Mickey. During Epcot, They already have a buch of our favs, so mostly stay in. U can walk down to the boardwalk to get a wide variety of those places too. AK days your a lil limited, Mostly Donald Breakfast at Tusker, or Rain Forest Cafe. Hollywood Studios, We never miss 50's PT cafe.

I cant believe nobody has mentioned Il Mulino New York Trattoria over at the Swan. We have tried Tutto Italia and Via Napoli and neither of them were nearly as good as New York Trattoria. Don't get me wrong the Epcot dishes were great, but nothing like New York Trattoria.

Ohana and Cape May are must do's for us. You could look on the dining reviews threads. Alot of people post pics of dishes at the restaurants. Very helpful.
