What are some meal options at WBC?

We are going to WBC in March. We will likely be at the parks for breakfast and lunch and then try to get dinner at the resort.

I was wondering what options and what suggestions you might have for:

1. fast food nearby?

2. any places that deliver and are tasty/economical?

3. What meals do you prepare in the room?

Thanks all!

We save money and time by eating breakfast in the room -- muffins, cereal, fruit, toast, oatmeal. Then you can enjoy the park in the morning during the least-crowded time without having breakfast get in the way. If we do go out for breakfast, we do it on a non-park day.

As for dinner, we will eat pizza -- sometimes from the Bonnet Creek pizza place -- or just bake a frozen pizza. Usually we get deli items, taquitos, frozen lasagna, sandwiches and other, stuff that can double as a meal or snack. We get our stuff at Costco or Publix on the first day. Warning: It is very easy to buy too much food! You don't want a bunch of waste.

Many people at Bonnet Creek grill out -- we have not done it, but it sure smells good!

For going out to eat, we often drive over to Pop, AoA or Port Orleans to eat and walk around as we like those food courts. We often will go at least once to Trail's End at Fort Wilderness -- usually on a non-park day for breakfast. We like Wolfgang Puck express, but have been avoiding Downtown Disney lately because of the construction.

We also like going to Sweet Tomatoes. We like the one over by SuperTarget near Animal Kingdom.

As for fast food, we usually don't as we see enough of those when not on vacation. There is a McDonald's next to the All-Stars.

WBC restaurant pricing makes Disney seem cheap! We took a look at the menu, and immediately headed off-site to buy groceries!

As mentioned in by the previous poster, have breakfast in the condo, lunch in the parks, and for dinner either:

- make something in the condo or
- eat off-site

We bought steaks and grilled them on the WBC outdoor gas grills for a easy, tasty and inexpensive dinner one night.

There is a Walmart a couple miles east of WBC. In addition to food, they have a wide variety of Disney merchandise.

1. fast food nearby?
Not really. There are some counter-service places in the timeshare buildings, comparable to a small Disney CS location in terms of offerings and prices. There is also a sit-down place at the hotel building's pool area that's very casual, and reasonably affordable---cheaper than a Disney TS.

2. any places that deliver and are tasty/economical?
Yes, but they deliver only to the main building; they are not allowed to go to your unit. We've ordered from Giordano's in the past.

3. What meals do you prepare in the room?
We generally only have breakfast in as we are getting ready for rope-drop in the morning.

Flippers pizza ... delivers ... we met downstairs in the drop off area

outside the door of lobby ... Building 4 ... (driver calls when ready)

IIRC this is the WBC standard ... for all deliveries.

Enter WBC address on Google Maps for fast food locations and all other types of merchants.

We just checked out from a week's stay today. We were mostly in the parks for dinner time, but the one evening we took off it looked like they weren't horribly busy.

Oh no, that bad? Is there a link to dining at WBC with menus? We are doing a few days there, no WDW:scared:, just other less costly things. I guess I will be cooking more then I wanted.

WBC meals are expensive for what you get. We paid $18 for a cheeseburger, fries, and 2 drinks. As for delivery, they will arrest any company coming on site to deliver. Therefore, you have to meet the driver outside the guard gate. The pizza delivery place we ordered from sucked. It was 1 of 2 places that slide their flier under the door. They are slow, the food tastes horrible.

There are 2 ways to combat this that are very easy. First, cook your own meals. Bring a crockpot and let it go all day long. You get back to a home cooked meal that is ready to eat. Or, have things in the room that can go in the over easily or on the grill. Second, there are excellent dining options only about 10 minutes away. Dinners at Disney for 3 adults and 1 child ran us nearly $150 with no drinks. It would have been more at WBC restaurants. We drove to Lonestar or Longhorn Steakhouse (can't remember which). 3 adult dinners, 1 child's dinner, 3 margaritas, 4 large beers cost $85 with tip. My dinner alone was $22 for the 16oz Cajun Ribeye.

Yes, it really is that bad -crazy expensive. But with a car you are just a few minutes from many restaurants and grocery stores that have "normal" pricing.

Thanks all! Are the grills easy to come by?

I suppose it varies based on the crowd level, but there were plenty of open grills scattered around the lake when we were there. They looked pretty new, and someone must be cleaning them as they were not disgusting. There are some picnic tables next to the grills if you want to eat outside... but there were some light showers the day I grilled so I just brought the food up to the condo.

Thanks. That we know, just like the option if not needing to especially breakfast and lunch.
I'm not sure if there Is there poolside dining?

Yes, there is poolside dining available from two different restaurants, the bar/grill next to tower 5 and at the Wyndham Grand Hotel.

Thanks. I believe I read we cannot take our own food or drink to the pool areas.
