Sorry I posted on the other reviews page. I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to post this question here.:confused3 Anyway, so what are some good options for a table service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom that has good food, decent for Disney prices, and a wide variety of options?

Crystal Palace Character Buffet. It has a great cast of characters (pooh and friends) and has some very good food and a lot of it.

Is the Crystal Palace only a buffet restaurant or only at certain meal times as we already have a lot of buffet reservations (which I just realized)?Thanks.:thumbsup2

One of our friends who goes to Disney four time a year with her family told us that the best food in Magic Kingdom was Crystal Palace, and we had also read good reviews. We made an ADR for 1:10 and got there right on time. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but it was worth it! We really loved the whole experience at Crystal Palace. Even though our kids are a little old for the magic of Pooh & Friends, they still enjoyed meeting the characters. Our 7-year-old got into the whole thing, including parading through the “100 Acre Woods” of waving green napkins. The great surprise was the food. The salad bar was divine. My favorites were Couscous, Tofu, and Roasted Vegetable Salad; Mediterranean Pasta Salad; and Tabbouleh Salad. I didn’t eat any meat that day, but I enjoyed the Broccoli tossed in Puri Puri and topped with Key Lime Ponzu; Medley of Vegetables with Balsamic Glaze; Fire Roasted Corn Spoon Bread; and Vegetable Pasta. The carving stations looked good, but I just preferred the wonderful salads and vegetables. DH and kids seemed to like everything they tried. For dessert I enjoyed the cheese board as well as the Banana Bread Pudding with Baily’s Irish Cream Sauce. I was really impressed with how fresh the food was and how nice the whole dining experience there was. If I had been paying OOP I would have considered it well worth it, which is something I don’t think I could say about every place we went on this trip. One piece of advice: the bathrooms there are really small. Take your kids to the baby station and bathrooms right behind the restaurant before you go in, and then if somebody needs to go on the way back to the park, go back via the baby station & bathrooms. DD spent so much time in line for the bathroom I though she had been kidnapped!

You have three options:

Crystal Palace for breakfast, lunch or dinner -- this is a buffet with Winnie-the-Pooh and friends (we do breakfast every year--it is one of our favorites)

Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch or dinner. Lunch is menu selection; dinner is family style with characters. We have only done lunch but really enjoyed it

Plaza Restaurant -- lunch or dinner. This is a little different than most table service establishments as it is only salads, sandwiches, shake and sundaes. This has become one of our must do's every trip--we really like it. It is small and quaint.

Oh thanks for posting this:thumbsup2. We have been to Liberty Tree Tavern and I think the Crystal Palace a while back but have never been to the Plaza Resturant. I will see which ones are available as we could probably eat at any of them.:)

We have eaten at all the TS restaurant in the MK, except for Tony's. Based on food alone, I would choose The Plaza. It's a sandwich shop, so there's not a lot of variety. What they offer is very good though. The ice cream is great. Also, it's not as expensive as the others. Many people avoid it, if on the DDP. That said, we'll be eating dinner at LTT & Tony's on our next trip. LTT will be before MNSSHP & the characters dress up in halloween costumes. We're going for the atmosphere, not the food. We're going to Tony's for 2 reasons. 1, we haven't eaten there yet, & 2, we're hoping to time it with Spectro. We're giving CP one more shot for breakfast. So far, we're not impressed at all. CRT, well it's in the castle. If money's no object, I say go there. ::yes::

Do you know if the Milk shakes are included if you have the dining plan?

Crystal Palace is a great place, so isn't LTT, I have not gone to Plaza, I have gone to Tony's its not bad, but not amazing either

Thanks everyone for all the feedback. :thumbsup2 I just wanted to get a foundation for what the Magic Kingdom restaurants offer as it has been a while! I think a lot of things might be booked so I'm just going to see what's available. Thanks for all of the information!:)

I don't like character meals so pretty much the only TS place in MK I eat at is Tony's. I'm a big Lady & The Tramp fan as well as a sucker for a good bowl of pasta.

We always do LTT and we've also done Tony's (although my favorite there were the frattata's for breakfast but alas - no more).

I'd definitely do Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. The food is all you can eat, but brought to you instead of laying out at a buffet. It really is fantastic food and a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Crystal Palace is very busy and loud though.

I just read on another thread that Liberty Tree Tavern is not going to be serving lunch after September 30 (they are taking no reservations for October). In my previous post, I forgot Tony's--we like it for lunch, but not dinner.

another vote for the plaza restaurant, and we were able to get milkshakes on the dining plan last month...

We have eaten at Crystal Palace a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Great variety and a beautiful restaurant. The characters are nice if you are interested but they happily leave you alone if you are not.
