What are our chances?

Okay, so we have a 2 BR BW view room at BWV for the nights of Oct 1-4. We had wanted it for the 1-7, but we had to wait list for the 5th and 6th. I just checked, and we got the BW view again for the 6th, so now we have BW view for the 1-4, garden view for the 5th, and BW view again for the 6th.

What are our chances of getting the BW view for the 5th? We'll have 9 people (with two kids under 3), so we'd love to not have to move, especially twice!!!

Given that it's May, I'm hoping someone can reassure me that we have strong chances to get the room for all 6 nights.

Obviously, I don't have a crystal ball, but I think there is a good chance your waitlist will come through. It's only for one night and you still have several months before your trip begins.

Not sure if you would want to do this, but when we were missing a day in our reservations, I called MS and asked if I could book the missing day and pay cash. It happened to be available, so I booked it. Then, if the the waitlist came through, I could cancel and if not, I didn't have to move rooms.

I can't tell you how it turned out, because our plans changed, and I cancelled the entire reservation. I don't remember specifically, but the cancellation policy for cash reservations is very liberal (if I remember correctly, you can cancel as late as 48 hours out). We would have gotten a 25% discount on the room with our DVC discount, but that's not always available, but definitely worth asking about when you call!

That 's a good idea, but it won't work for the OP's situation. She is waitlisted for a Boardwalk view 2 bedroom. The Boardwalk view category is not available for cash, even to members who book for cash through MS. The Boardwalk view units are reserved for members paying with points.
