What are our chances with a late booking?

Well, I am so excited. We have just put a down payment on points at SSR. Being in Australia, Disney could not sell direct to us so we went through the resale route. From go to whoa I estimate this is going to take approx 3 months tops (fingers crossed). This will take us to mid June before we can book via DVC. My question is how do you think our chances are to rent a 2 bedroom villa at either Beach club or Boardwalk for the week of Aug 27th to Sep 3rd? Just trying to get some idea so I won't be disappointed if it doesnt happen. We have a normal booking elsewhere just in case. Thanks.........

I don't believe you will have a problem esp for Broadwalk as that time of year is considered very low travel. You may have a better chance at BW just because they have a lot more 2 bedrooms available and it is a much larger resort. Almost all of the schools, not all, are back to school by then.

Good Luck

Well, first of all:
Welcome Home!

Good luck in the resale process. It is much longer from beginning to end, but since that is your only avenue short of flying here to buy direct, it will do.

As for the likelihood of getting a reservation for the end of August, I think you should do pretty well. Remember, that our Labour Day in North America falls on the first Monday of September, so staying thru that last weekend might have been tricky, but since 3rd Sept is your last day, you should be in good shape. The end of August is a pretty slow time in WDW because much of the US has gone back to school by then (not here in New England, but much of the rest). It is also Hot as Hades :sunny: then, and very humid; for an Australian equivalent, think Brisbane (an equivalent latitude) at the end of February, but maybe more humid. It is also Hurricane season in the North Atlantic, and last year, Orlando was hit once in August and twice in September. All this scares folks away, or at least it should this year (given last year's hurricane season). So again, you should be in good shape to get at least your second choice (maybe not BW view, but likely pool view).

But congratulations on your impending DVC membership, and good luck with the reservations.

Welcome Home!

It's good that you have the other ressies, but I hope that you can get at DVC one as well.

Thanks for the replies! I still can't get over the fact that we are buying into the DVC. It's 3.30am & I am too excited to sleep!
