what are our chances for last-minute ressies?

We just decided to go on a girls-only trip (mom, my sister, our lifelong friend who's like a sister and me) We were able to book a room at AKL for Saturday, August 21 to save points but have to wait until member services opens on Tuesday to book DVC for Sunday through Wednesday. Any chance we'll get our home resort (BCV) or BWV?

It just depends. One time we tried to book 5 months out for Boardwalk Villas nothing. So we went with OKW. Last trip in January we wanted to stay and extra day. We were in a one bedroom at OKW but wanted to try WLV and we called Thursday for a room on Friday and had no problem. It really just up to chance.
