Anyone know what OKW points are selling for direct from DVC (with the new 2057 expiry)? I assume there are no incentives for those.

Another question - if I usually travel to WDW in late November and late March (I'd probably do one using DVC and one at FW), is there a use year that would be more advantageous for me than another? When you buy direct from DVC, can you pick your use year? Does the use year chosen determine what points you get? For instance, if I chose an October use year, would I get October 2007 points, or no points until October 2008. Or is that even possible since October has passed?

$96 per point. That's the same net price as AKV ($104 less $8) which has the same 2057 ending date. So in that respect, the cost is discounted. However you cannot take advantage of the current Developer's Points incentive (with member referral). That bonus is only available on AKV and SSR.

September or October would be pretty good. December would probably be the worst choice.

Unless you feel your vacation months are set-in-stone for the next four to five decades, there really is no prefect Use Year. Before scheduling trips in the couple of months prior to the end of the UY, you just need to be extra careful in considering the likelihood of re-scheduling. With an October UY, you only have until May 31 to bank your points. So, if you schedule a trip in August or September, you'll have to cancel well in advance to still have the flexibility of banking. Canceling on short notice would only give you weeks to re-book before the 9/30 expiration of the points.

They don't always have every single UY available, but if a particular one is important to you, let them know and they can try to help.

No matter what Use Year you buy now you will get the 2007 points. They always give customers the points for the current Use Year. In fact, December owners are still in their 2006 Use year (which runs from 12/1/06 to 11/30/07). Buying there now may still net you the '06 points, but given your travel habits, I think that would be a poor choice.

A couple of other threads have indicated that OKW direct from DVC is selling at $96/point for the extended to 2057 points.

If you usually travel in November and March, my choice would be an October use year so that there would be no trouble banking if you had to cancel, because you would have until the end of May to bank any points. Also, if you had to cancel your November registration less than 31 days from arrival, you would have nearly a whole year to use those points, since they cannot be banked at all.

If you are in the current use year when you buy, you will get the points for that whole use year. Even if you did the deal next August or September for an October use year, you could still get your full 2007 points (and many others have reported that Member Services is pretty flexible about banking those points even at that late date).
