What are my Chances?

We are booked for a grand villa at BLT's in September.
Originally we were to be 3 couples and had a reservation for California Grill. We have invited a 4th couple and would like to change the reservation to 8 people but they told me I could not.
They said to keep calling that people do cancel.
What are my chances of getting the reservation changed?
Is it possible to get what I want?

You may have trouble with areservation of 8. Why not try for a reservation for 2 at the same time and then ask to be seated together when you arrive.
