What are meal vouchers?How to get them?

I am new here and was wondering what these vouchers are. I keep reading about them but need a better description. Also, how do you get them.

This was the info on Mousesavers back in ’02 before it was pulled...here's verbatim what it used to say. This is not completely up to date, but will give you the idea:

"Quick & Casual" Meal Vouchers
Each Quick & Casual voucher costs $11.25 and is valid for a full
counter service lunch or dinner at a participating restaurant
location at the WDW resort. With each voucher you can order your
choice of one of the following: one combo meal (entree, side dish
and beverage) and one dessert, OR one entree, one side dish (if not
included in the entree), one dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage
Tax and gratuity (if any) are included. Alcoholic beverages, frozen
drinks and souvenir drink mugs are not included. Current vouchers
being issued expire 5/31/03. You will almost always come out at
least even on the Quick & Casual vouchers. At many of the locations,
the vouchers can save an adult (or a kid with a big appetite) money
at many of the locations, especially those in the theme parks. Rule
of thumb: if you would be spending at least $10.75 for the meal
before tax, using a voucher will be a good deal, because tax (and
tip, if applicable) is included. Also, many of the combo meals are
big enough that two people could share one and just purchase an
additional drink (and possibly an additional side order).

"Vacation Kingdom" Lunch Vouchers Each Vacation Kingdom lunch
voucher costs $30.50 for adults or $12.75 for children and is valid
for a full meal including appetizer, entree, dessert and non-
alcoholic beverage at a participating restaurant location at the WDW
resorts. Taxes and gratuities are included. Alcoholic beverages are
not included. Current vouchers being issued expire 5/31/03. These
vouchers are a good deal when ordering a three-course meal at the
full-service restaurants marked with **. In some cases they will
save you money only when ordering the most expensive selections on

Got my certificate..you have ot be a member in good standing ot redeam this..and you can't redeam it until (I believe) 90 days out. But I did get my 2 discount movie tickets and the 2 free ones (had to send for the free ones).

Really? I just joined yesterday and was not aware of this! Let's see, for someone who was planning on canceling after the 30 day trial, it wouln't pay to hang in there for 3 months to be able to use the $20. dining rebate. ($8.50 X 3 months = $25.50)

Rick, how "discounted" were the movie tickets and to redeem the free ones did you have to go to the movies, keep your reciept and mail it in to Connections to be reimbursed?

I checked out the meal vouchers cost wise and what you are offered at the participating restaraunts.
I don't eat enough for it to be worth my while. YOu do wind up saving if you eat the full meal, dessert etc, or if you share the meal. I don't share because what I like is different than my family, and I never eat desserts because my meal fills me up.
So I guess I will go the old fashioned way.
I do find the AK meal coupons are definately a bargain though because I can spread out the food during the day, not eat it all in one sitting. Peggie

The movies tic's that came with mymembership allowed you to get in for $5 (2 of them)...and the free ones, you did have to send in a card, and they were totally free...I have them in hand.

The $8.50 would be worth it, if you were going to be ordering more certs..not everyone can buy them all up front. I bought a lot of the store and restaurant (non disney) certs, so stayed in an extra month to get back the discount for them (it was substantial)...so my multiple would be 8.50 X 2=$17..so I would be ahead $3.
