What are McDonalds prices like for you?

First off...I had to find out what a Mayo Chicken/Chicken Mayo was. I'm thinking this is it in the US...

Truth be told, I am not a big McDonald's fan. We had it a couple of weeks ago because we were on the road, got in late, and it was the only thing still open near our hotel. It's the first time I've had it in probably a decade.

There were three of us. I had drinks in our cooler, so no combo meals. I believe we got three large fries, two quarter pounders and a Big Mac. It was around $29 and change after tax (US).

If you want really overpriced food, look no farther than Dominos. Best deal on its own is a pizza - £12 for one large. But when you add a drink, a dip, a side and cookies, you're very well shelling out £35, £40? Delivered. That's more than many really nice restaurants.

One trip to McDonald’s for my family of 7 costs about $60. We ate at an El Saltos the other day (table service restaurant) and our bill was a little over $70 and the food was miles better

That's the thing. We have a favourite Italian restaurant called Donatellos and for £20 you get garlic bread, a pizza, salad and drink. Add £4.50 for a dessert. That's less than a similar order at Dominos AND the food is fresh AND it's table service AND the general quality of the place and food is FAR superior than Dominos...

We haven't eaten at Mcdonalds in ages. Few weeks ago DS gets a two combo meals , a $5 deal, up charge drinks to milkshakes plus extra shake and pack of ten nuggets. $48. Almost fell on the floor when they got home with the floor. And then they forget the nuggets. When back later for nuggets, and that was all they gave. I would have pushed for free drinks for the kids or something.

Orono, ME (just north of Bangor): I bought a McDouble, filet-0-fish, medium fries, and 2 large diet cokes for lunch today. It was almost $18!! :faint:

I got a sausage egg McMuffin and a sugar free vanilla iced late and it was 11.34. That's a lot of money for fake egg sandwich. My work diet consist mainly of a protein bar and fasting. It's cost way to much to eat fast food these days.

I have found circle k to be a great place for iced coffee. It's two bucks and I can make it myself with half cold brew and half latte and it's not so sweet.

My lunch order yesterday was a double cheeseburger (as opposed to a McDouble with cheese :D ); med. fries (free with a drink -- which I was ordering anyway); and a med. Diet Coke; oh, and a container of sweet and sour dipping sauce. My total was $5.44. It would have been $5.18 without the dipping sauce for my fries.

That's another reason why the app just wouldn't work for me....I don't like piecemealing a bunch of stuff. When I go to McDonald's, I want a MEAL, that's it. I don't want just fries, or a drink, or a sandwich with NO drink, or whatever. Some form of burger (or nuggets), medium fries, medium drink. That only comes with a value meal, and it is so much easier to just order that way. Number One, done.
Sometimes you get a value meal for $6.49 in the app.

ETA: Checked my app. Apparently the deal is now $7 for a select medium combo meal.

Wow - that is a lot. The eggs on a sausage egg McMuffin here are real eggs. (And you can get one for $2 in the app here, too.)

Yeah, they play a lot of games with the app. So many places do! I really miss when ordering was simple.

Sure. Not sure if it's national, but at least in my area when the $5 deal in the app is used, it's only been through "Mobile Order & Pay" meaning there has to be some sort of online payment. It' also limited to one at a time.

If it's a $5 regular menu price, there's no specific limit and I can pay cash at the register.

I was having an issue because there was an app deal that was once per day but didn't disappear from my options. But when I tried to use it I got an error only once I tried to check out and pay. And once a deal is selected, there's 15 minutes from that point to use another deal. But if I try canceling, it doesn't reset. I still need to wait the full 15 minutes.

That being said, I think McDonald's probably has the best rewards program. There are several options at 1500 points ($15 spending). And even discounted items qualify for points.

We ate in NH last winter and I think we got two double cheeseburgers, a large fry and two milkshakes and it was about $25! Horrors! Looking forward to Chick Filet next week if we are off property (the one off Western Way)!
