What are "long hold times"?

I know this is all guessing..but I will be (trying to, anyway) call first thing in the morning when free dining comes out to the public. Now, I only can hold an hour from 7-8am. Do you think I will be able to get it all done in an hour? Or maybe I should be asking..what is the longest you have ever been on hold to make a reservation?

Last year to book free dining to the general public I was on the phone for over 2 hours the first day the promo came out. But I called at 8:30 a.m. and we have to book two rooms and that always takes longer. I had to call within a few days to adjust the reservation and the phone call was MUCH shorter, under 1/2 hour. With free dining last year (1st day) I was on hold for at least 1.5 hours.
