I'm trying to compare the moderate resorts and understand thet the rooms in the Caribbean are a little bigger to accommodate two ecv. What are the good and bad things about the Caribbean compared to other moderates? Thanks

You might want to visit the CBR FAQ for more information on the resort. It is a beautiful resort.

I was there in MArch 2006. The actual resort is nice. The rooms are a different story. I was very disappointed in the quality of the rooms. They were very dirty. I was in Aruba. Disney definately needs to do some work on the insides of these rooms. The layout of the resort takes a while to figure out. Getting to your room can be like a maze.

We were there in October 2006 and enjoyed it. We had one of the corner rooms with a king bed and there was plenty of room. We noticed no problems with our room and enjoy the meandering nature of the paths. Buses were excellent and the foodcourt not that far over the bridge. We have stayed at all 4 mods and enjoy this one very much. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Normally we recommend a moderate based on which them you like, but the CBR do have the largest room especially if you have the king bed.

We arrived home Saturday after spending 8 wonderful days at CBR. We stayed in Aruba and it was perfect. Not too far away from OPR .. a nice walk over the bridge and my son found a short cut by the second day so even quicker!

The room was really nice (much bigger than POP - but POP is still my kid's favorite resort). I would have to agree that the room could have been cleaner though. The beds were fine, carpet clean, bathroom area spotless but the room looked like it could use a good dusting. If you looked at the light fixtures over the bed they were dusty as well you could see a build up of dust around the long mirror that hung on the bathroom door. I just wiped those areas myself and didn't let it bother me.

I enjoyed the food at the food court in OPR as well. I wasn't crazy about the scrambled eggs I had one morning, but for dinner I had the best salmon filet ever. In fact I had salmon at the House of Blues in downtown disney one evening and preferred the one at the food court more. In fact I had twice last week. It was served with 2 "sides" and I had a double portion of the veggies which also were great. Not bad for 9 bucks.

I can't say I enjoyed staying here more than Pop Century though. I enjoyed them both equally. I certainly preferred the larger room and food court at CBR but preferred the pool at POP.

I really liked the Disney mugs with free refills all week. Definately worth the $12.00 for each of those. I know I shouldn't have done this, but when we checked out I gave the 2 mugs to another family checking in for them to enjoy for their holiday.

Anyway, that's my two cents. :)

We stayed at the CBR in May and I was pleasantly surprised. I generally stay at the POFQ when I stay in a moderate but my sister-in-law wanted to try the CBR.
We stayed in Aruba and I thought the rooms were in great shape, the resort was easy for us to navigate. We just walked out our door and turned left to go to path around the lake to walk to the food court and right to get to the bus stop. Bus transportation was fine, we had no problems...except for one night when we left the MK and they had charter buses taking people back to the resorts. Instead of taking us to our village we were all dropped off at Custom House and then had to take an internal bus to our village.
While the resort is large, the walk was very nice, and we had a 4 year old and a 1 year old with us.
The food court was a nice size and had a good selection, and the food was very good.
I think you will enjoy your stay at the CBR, I know we did.

I think you'll really enjoy CBR -- it's a beautiful resort! Feel free to check out the photos in my links below.

We are huge fans of CBR because of the theming. It is a very large resort but we dont care which building we stay in because if we want to get to the main building with the dining and shopping we just get in our car and drive there. I have only stayed there in the very slow times of the year so buses and crowds have never been an issue with us.

We've stayed at the CBR and while I like the theming of the resort itself, it is just too big and confusing for us - my parents were in a different building then us and kept getting lost. We just stayed at POFQ in Sept and LOVED it - very compact and beautiful. Just comes down to your own preferances!

Good: Larger rooms (especially the king rooms), resort is spread-out (you never feel cramped), beautiful rooms, beautiful landscaping, peaceful, sandy beaches, Banana Cabana, hammocks, lots of shady spots thanks to all the trees, and a great gift shop. Some of the most beautiful photos I've ever taken were right at this resort.

Bad: No elevators (this was tough for my mom). That's about it - I can't really think of anything else that could be considered bad.

This resort is too spread out. It was the first moderate that was built so Disney learned from it's mistakes when building the other moderates. I also don't like that the main building is separate from the rest of the resort.

I can see where it may be a bit spread out for some folks. I have never used it, but the main pool seems weak for such a large resort (maybe the rehab will improve on that!!).

That being said, it is a beautiful resort. DW and I love to take a walk around the lake. The grounds are gorgeous. The theming is fantastic.

And 4 weeks from today, I AM CHECKING IN FOR TWO WEEKS!!!!!

You will love it!!
