What are Ever After fireworks?

I'm sailing on the inaugural 4 night cruise out of Sydney, and someone has just gotten confirmation that we will not be having fireworks on pirate night, but another cruiser has been told that while there will be no pirate night fireworks, there will be ever after fireworks.

Looks like these were in use after the return from Covid in early 2022. Isn‘t Sydney still under Covid precautions?

It may have something to do with location of the ship when doing fireworks. I have always thought they needed to be closer to land in case of fire.

It could also be to set off the fireworks on the first or last night - when you are near Sydney or another significant city.

If you are having Pirate Night and you are having fireworks, the significant difference could be the music in the background - no Pirates of the Caribbean theme Song?

The only covid requirements I'm aware of for cruising is everyone 12 and over must be doubled vacc'd

They are supposed to make rule changes soon for New South Wales - to be less restrictive. By the time you cruise, it might be a moot point.

I have no idea how far out they modify things like fireworks shows. But sometimes they are scheduled to entertain the host city.
