What are Disney Dollars?

They are Disney's form of paper money, and they can be purchased from any Disney Store or at any of the parks. They come in denominations of $1, $5, $10, and $20. Each denomination displays a different character in place of our presidents, and their design/images change from year to year (they never expire, however).

They can be used at any Disney Store, and most places at Disneyland and Disney World (there are a few exceptions, I believe, but I myself have never had a problem spending them anywhere).

This Link is a good site to get an idea of what they look like :)

Soooooo...it's probably easier to just spend regular US dollars? Or is there some sort of advantage?

It would probably be easier just to spend US dollars, we got the Disney Dollars for our kids to start saving and of course then spent at Disney. But there is no real reason that you have to have them...except they are pretty cute!

As the exchange rate is exactly the same $1 = $1 in Disney Dollars, there is no real benefit. They were created mostly for novelty, and children in particular really enjoy them.

The kids love them. We're giving DD to them for Valentine's day and Easter (instead of candy - still trying to get rid of Halloween candy) and as rewards (i.e. good report cards etc) so they can use it when we visit "the happiest place on earth" in 147 days.
