It's a program you download from Southwest Airlines. Then, usually once a day but sometimes more or less, you get special limited time deals on airfare from the airports you select. It's a good thing if Southwest flys from your airport-I got a ding fare from BNA-Orlando that saved us over $150 a ticket!

my friend just downloaded ding and are hopeful that something will come up soon. Does she have to click on the ding icon or are they emails that come if a special is available? another question. we are going 8/20-9/1, do you think it is too late for a ding?

You need to click on the icon when it dings, it will take you to a page of special ding fares. I just got some ding fares good August1 to October 27 so it's not too late to hope for one for your trip! HTH!
