Hi
last time we went we stayed onsite for 2 nights getting the front of line pass thing with our room keys, but this was over xmas week so well worth the extra $$$$$. This next time we will be going August from approx 6th August for 2 weeks, so will we need to stay onsite again, we are looking at hiring a villa for the 2 weeks, so if you peeps say we need to stay on site because of crowd levels then I would book 2 nights onsite at the begining of the holiday.
thanks

You'll need to stay onsite. July and the first two weeks of August are very busy. If you look at the park hours for August here, you'll see they stay open until 10pm until the 20th.

Jeb Bush signed a new law where schools can't start until the 20th. This was because the school boards kept pushing the start date back farther and farther taking away the summer.

I'd book the onsite part during the week. The good news about your trip, is the parks stay open until 10pm, so you'll be able to do the two visit thing each day. That is visit a park in the the morning, return to your room for a nap, then come back at night when things have cooled down.

I'm going in August for two weeks too (11-25). We're staying offsite and I've decided to just get there early in the morning. Since we're going to be there for two weeks I can't imagine we won't be able to see and do everything US and IOA have to offer without staying on site. Have you checked into getting the express passes for a few of the days you're there? It may be less expensive than staying on-site. Just a thought.

So can I assume that when the closing times drop down to 8pm that the crowds will be a little lighter then the week before when they close at 10pm? We are thinking about the 3rd week in August. We will definitley be onsite but I was just curious to the crowds that 3rd week in august.

Fourth week of August is really not that bad in terms of crowds...i'd assume the third weed is less crowded than earlier in the month, given that many school systems have resumed by then.

Biggest issues with late August are the sometimes incredible heat and the higher risk of hurricanes.
