Hi all, just out of curiosity....

Do you have any annual/season passes? Where?

We used to do the zoo and children's museum in MN. Were planning on the science museum, but then we moved.

This year, because of visitors and the promotions of buy one day get the year for free promotions, I think we will have Disneyland, Universal and Sea World. Yikes! I would never have thought it! I'd like to do the zoo, but the kids aren't all that interested. Maybe I'll get one for just DD and I!

DH and I have premium annual passes for DL. Once I lose more weight we will probably get them for Six Flags Magic Mountain as well.

Disneyland and Great America which includes Knotts Berry Farm and any other park owned by Ceder Fair in the USA. Pretty cool.

We live near Seattle and have memberships/annual passes to Disneyland, Pacific Science Center, and our Children's Museum. We've held memberships to the Science Center annually since our oldest was 4. We usually pick a second venue to hold membership so that we have memberships to 2 local attractions each year. Last year was our local zoo, this year it's the children's museum. We've also held an AP to disneyland for the past 3 years.

We love our Science Center membership since they are part of the ASTC programs which allows us free entrance to hundreds of science centers around the country. We've used it to get in free at Science World in BC and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland. I believe the Discover Science Center (the cube) in Santa Ana is included as well. Same for our local zoo. Our zoo has reciprocal membership to Portland Zoo(OR), Hogle Zoo (UT), and many others.

We've purchased memberships to distant attractions like the San Diego ZOO/ Wild Animal Park and the Vancouver Aquarium in the past since they often included a # of free admissions for guests and we were traveling with grandparents so it was cheaper to get the annual membership.

Disneyland, Sea World and Universal Studios are great attractions to have an annual membership to. We've visited them all and had a great time. Unfortunately, our trips to CA are often about a week long and not enough time to venture out of disneyland. Hope you get the most our of your year.

We are members of the San Francisco Zoo and are considering the Monterey Bay Aquarium as well.

We are AP holders for Disneyland. We were annual pass holders for both the San Francisco Zoo and the Bay Area Children's Discovery Museum, but we've let both of those lapse in the last few months.

Last year we belonged to two zoos, one in Tacoma b/c it's good and close, one in Seattle b/c it's different from the one in Tacoma.

But we didn't renew those for this year b/c we bought Deluxe APs to Disneyland.

While in San Diego visiting my brother I came across the Seaworld Fun Card (pay for ONE day's admission, and we got December and all but 5 days in '08) so we have those, too, though my brother is holding on to them to make sure we don't forget them on a visit.

We are doing our first AP's this year, we are doing DL premium AP. We usually go to SeaWorld once a year, because we get one day free each year with dh in the military, we love SeaWorld and it's a highlight of the year, but decided it's not worth an AP as we usually see what we want to see in one or two days. Now that they are doing a miniature Sesame Place in the middle, we'll have to maybe review that decision. The SD Zoo once a year is enough for us, and we really weren't impressed with the Wild Animal Park, so it's not something we do regularly. Knott's is a one day deal for us, as is Universal Studios. Magic Mountain would be a consideration if I enjoyed roller coasters, but they aren't my thing. We actually haven't been there in about 11 years, so I'm not even sure what it's like now. We do attend the Living Desert in Palm Desert several times in the winter (too hot in the summer), and the kids enjoy seeing the desert wildlife and learning more about where we are living now.

Depending on when you normally go, you should check out their website and look for the "Fun Card". It gives you the year, minus 5 specific days, for the price of one day's admission. It's crazy. There is an expiration of when you can buy it, though.

I don't know if this is just for SoCal residents, but I have a Silver Passport for SeaWorld that is $94/full year. It includes parking, and since a 1-day pass is $63 and parking is $10, it's more than worth it for me! (I go at least once every couple of weeks.)

I also have a family San Diego zoo membership which is even cheaper when you renew, and just got my first DL AP 2 weeks ago. :woohoo:

My brother and SIL had one of the annual passports like that last year. Then they let it lapse, waiting for our next visit...and when I found the fun card promo on the website, they decided that one of them would get the passport for the parking and the food discounts, and the other got the Fun Card b/c it's cheaper. :)

I have a deluxe pass to DLR, but I'm planning on upgrading it to a premium in March.

Also have one for Universal, but only because of the "Buy a day, get a year free" promo.

I have a premium AP, but DH and the kids have deluxe. I keep the premium so I get the parking, plus all the discounts. I easily make up the difference in price over the year!

We have deluxe AP's to Disneyland and we have annual passes to a little kids place near our home called Fairytale Town. Although they are expiring next month and we don't plan to renew. We just got them last year for my daughter's birthday. We have been AP holders for 2 years but don't plan on renewing this year but will renew again in 09 and I plan on getting a Premium and the rest will get Deluxes again. That way I can get more of a discount on the meals and in the stores. When our kids are older we will get AP's to our local six flags that is near our home called Discovery Kingdom.

Since so many of you are return AP'ers, could you tell me if DL offers any incentive or discounts for renewal?

Just Deluxe AP's to Disneyland. We've had them for Marine World and Great America in the past, but we don't get down to the bay area enough to make it worth it.

Zoemakes5, you just get the same discounts that come with an AP. Nothing extra for renewing.

Thanks, I don't know if I said it right, but I was wondering if when it comes up for renewal time, whether DL offers you any discount in the AP rate for renewing v. the straight amount that you pay online or at the park for an AP.

Wow Zoemakes5, I should read the boards more often... I'm a MN tranplant to California too. We moved here the end of July, it still feels a little unreal.

We just let our MN Sceince Museum membership end, but I am debating renewing it (they have a teacher rate which will help with the cost) to use it for museums here in California.. and of course to use this summer when we go back to visit family in MN.

Otherwise, I have a premium and the rest of our family has So Cal Aps.

I've been thinking of getting Universal Passes since my family will be blocked out of DL all summer (and boohoo, my Premium expires in May).

I also read that price wise, for a family, a San Diego zoo membership is just a few dollars more than a day pass. We haven't gone there yet.

We have an annual pass to the zoo here...it is $50-something for the whole family...that is a great deal especially since it is within walking distance.

We have annual passes to DL. Only I have the Premium one, though. We use that one for the discounts. :thumbsup2

After these expire, we may hold off on getting them renewed for another year or so. We are putting that moolah towards our May 2009 WDW trip for my graduation...I am soooo excited! :cool1:
