What American snack food MUST I try?

Lemonade is the main reason I get refillable mugs at Disney! I love the minute maid stuff!!

Our lemonade is fizzy- like soda, where as the stuff you get in America is still and delicious! We have 'old fashioned still lemonade' and lemon squash, but they just aren't the same!

BTW: They sell minute maid lemonade by the 2 liter in stores here.

Another food you might want to try if they do not have it in the UK are Pringles potatoe crisps.

Sounds almost like we need to set up some kind of snackfood exchange program between the americans and our european dis'ers!

Hi gang!

I just got my confirmation from Florida Tours today for our trip (who have been fabulous so far by the way!) and I started to get excited about the 30 minute grocery shopping trip we get (I know, I'm sad!). I am going to ask for a Publix or Walmart, but even looking on their websites makes me a bit overwhelmed. How can you have 121 different types of cereal bar?!?!

So apart from buying some bottled water and sniffing the laundry detergent section (mmmm, Tide!), I want to know what else I should pick up?

What snack foods are must buys? What are the perfect post-park pick-me ups? What foods are always in your rucksacks in the parks?

Any help and delicious suggestions would be appreciated! (but nothing with cheese in, or involves a fridge since my swap went awol)

I know exactly what you mean - why do American supermarkets seem soooo much better :P

I'm getting a little excited here! How sad...

I'm also a mountain dew lover, along with some cherry Dr Pepper. And try Oreo "cakesters" too - they are "cake" versions of oreos. Yum!

Enjoy :)

You might also enjoy the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper (or even the Diet Dr. Pepper version..I like it better than the normal version)!

LOL! I completely agree with that. If I could find someone to send me roast chicken crisps & British candy bars in exchange for Pop Tarts & Lucky Charms, I'd be thrilled. =)

You want to have snacks for into the parks and during the day...
Not for breakfast or whatever do i understand correct??

I will give you my list of things based on snacks that you don't have to keep cool all the time.

** Water.
** Ocean Spray mix -> 10 packets in a box, mix with a bottle of water and you have a flavoured drink.
** BBQ Chips.
** Crackers.
** Lunchable -> i love love love Lunchables but there is cheese in it.
It are boxes with crackers, meat and cheese (maybe there is also a taste without cheese) and all the ingredients are seperate packed in the box, so the cheese doesn't touch the other food.
** Cookies from the bakery
** Oreo's snackpack -> then they are packed with 2 cookies in a pack
** Fruit

** Zip Lock Snack bags -> easy for putting the food into without spreading the food in you bag. Now you can buy big bags of chips and a big carton of crackers and take each day a bit with you.
** Baby wipes

Those are some great ideas Yvet, thank you! I love BBQ crisps too, yum! We have lunchables in the UK, and the smell of the cheese turns my stomach, although may be a good choice for my other half!

Snack packs look good too! I hadn't thought of that! Ziplock bags are also a must buy! Adding them all to my list!

Sunkist a soda company here in the states just started selling carbonated- like soda lemonade in my area. It is a nice change from the usual lemonade.

Now plain water I do not like carbonated at all. Had it for the first and last time in Europe. LOL

The best lemonade I ever had is the fresh made stuff in Magic Kingdom. Try some if you come across it. It is fresh squeezed and the best lemonade.

Sparking water is gross! :crazy2: I will look out for the stuff in the magic kingdom, sounds yummy! I love the frozen stuff, that is gorgeous!

We have Pringles! Once you pop, you can't stop!

Cake versions of oreos?!?! Sounds fantastic! I gotta pick me up some of those!

Wow, this shopping list is getting pretty long!

I have just finished off a packet of Walkers roast chicken crisps, and they were delicious! :goodvibes

Mmmmmmm... cakesters! Those are DEFINITELY NOT on my diet!

They have the 100 calorie packs of oreo cakesters!! Very good!

Add Chocolate chip pot tarts to the list.

And Publix has a cookie in their bakery I LOVE!! They are called Calypso cookies. Not sure what is in them, I know pecans, coconut and maybe oatmeal. Chewy and good with chocolate milk in the morning!

This thread is funny. It's making me hungry.

Also, it has me thinking..... with so much variety here in the US is there any wonder so many Americans are over weight?

Have a great trip, Kate!!! I want to hear all about your snacks.

My body really doesn't care whether they're 100 Calorie Packs or not when I eat the whole box!! I find it's best to just avoid them altogether!

What is is about Oreos? I can't just eat one ... no matter what form they take!
:sad2:

A couple of the blogs I follow have been trying desperately to make a clone of these cookies. They sound divine. =)

big red. but not the diet, go for the good stuff. lol. cheetos crunchy, and milky way candy bars with a glass of milk.

I could go on and on but I'll narrow it down to 2.

1) Crystal Lite individual packets cuz the water is naaasty in FL
2) Lil Debbie swiss cake rolls or HoHos--basically the same thing and oh so yummy

Hostess HoHos are much better that the Lil Debbie Swiss rolls. The chocolate is different on the outside.

As to Pop Tarts, frosted cinnamon is the best to me.

I am also willing to send snacks to the UK for someone as long as they send me back some Polo mints!

I was thinking the same thing!
