I just don't see that the Connections Kingdom Lunch voucher is a good deal. You may save 1-2 dollars. That just is not worth it to me.

Depends on where you eat & what you eat. And it includes tax & gratuity (based on the actual amount of food ordered, not the voucher cost). It can be well worth it!

Lots of reports of people eating at the AK rainforest cafe. They will do a surf & turf for you (not on the menu) that I think costs almost as much as the voucher. Add dessert & drink, and it's a great deal! You also get an appetizer.

What restaurant are you looking at? Some are not worth it, like garden grill at epcot. Most of the 1 price meals are not.

From what I have seen and heard, it's only a good deal if:

You eat somewhere it would normally be really really expensive. Only a limited few restaurants fit that description in my opinion (researching it myself)

OR what I have heard many doing is using ONE voucher for 2 people- and sharing the meal if it's a larger meal (I have heard Rainforest Cafe at DTD is a good deal on this and supposedly enough food for two?)

We used them at the Concourse Steak House at the Contemporary. The steaks are $24 so with a appetizer and dessert we saved quite abit. We ordered from the Childrens Menu for our girls and shared the appetizer & dessert. More than enough for everyone and although we didn't share there would have been enough.

No, they aren't such a great deal.

Some people boasted about how they pigged out at Beaches & Cream, etc., but you'd either have to be willing to spend vacation time hoping to another resort to eat burgers and ice cream or stay there. Meals are for sustenance during our vacations, we aren't willing to waste park time heading out far from our route to eat.

Then there's the personal issue (at least for me) of embarrassment. I know tips are included in the price of the voucher but I don't have the face to leave a certificate and no cash for the waitress, especially if we had a great time. So there goes your savings of one or two bucks in the purchase of the voucher...

At the most savings, they even you out but the tip throws you off. And then you try to cancel and never know if you got double billed or will survive the cancellation oddysey.

I think you're better off belonging to a rewards program that issues web certificates or restaurant certificates. At least you can get free RFC certificates hassle-free! And maybe the new visa card will have rewards that earn you more money and savings than Connections vouchers.

We're going to try the vouchers for our upcoming trip in March. Yes, I'm sure we'll have to either park hop or resort hop to get the best deals for our money, but since this is our 16th trip, we are not in the "commando" mode to do the parks. This is something new this year for us, and we plan a different approach for our trip. We'll probably plan the day around where we'll catch lunch or the more expensive VKL. DD14 and I will share a Q&C. She really wants to try the Kitchen Sink as shown on the Travel Channel. DS17 will be meeting up with friends, so he'll have his meal ticket paid for. I know he and DH can get their money's worth. I've looked at suggestions for the best deals, and they work for us. Also, the hassle of double billing (if it happens) is something I can handle. I run a business from home, and I know how to deal with unscrupulous businesses if needed.

TreeOfLife, the OP is talking about the $30 lunch vouchers that are good at sit down restaurants. It's a totally different thing than the $11.50 (?) counter service vouchers (quick & casual) that can be used at beaches & cream. Those often do only save $1-2, but we've had good luck with the connections program in general, and the vouchers are just an extra.

The kingdom magic vouchers can be used for lunch at full service restaurants like RFC, Brown Derby, Concourse steakhouse (at the contemporary) and other places where you can get a real (& possibly expensive) meal.

We gave them a try (at the concourse also) and got a fantastic deal! Going over to the Contemporary for a relaxing lunch was a wonderful break from the parks (no crowds in September)! We ate A LOT, but ended up just having a tiny dinner.

Our bill was around $110 + tip for the cost of 2 vouchers ($60). The server TOLD us we shouldn't leave an additional tip!

Its a great deal ! ...I think it alone costs $30. Caution: Ask them what is in it first, Then have them put potentially unpalatable ingredients on the side. It'll take at least 3 to eat that monster....kids didn't like scoop of coffee ice cream, the cake they put in it, and some of the weird candies (would have been better separated from the monster). Wear a multi-colored (luow) shirt as surely you'll be dripping some on self during the devouring process. pace yourself. Pretend you won't get another feeding for days. A family of 4 would be good for 1 meal voucher if you split this Kitchen Sink amongst yall.

Thanks for the heads up on the Kitchen Sink. We'll see if it is still offered in March. Our kids will try about anything (they are older) at least once. I can't say that my DS17 will want to share with us, but I've heard you can request individual bowls to serve yourself. We may end up with regular desserts, too. And that would be okay.

We certainly think they were bargains. We ate three times at RF at AK..not out of our way at all!
One of the times we got the lobster with the upgraded steak ($42) as well as the appetizer, dessert and tip included (and our drink!). Another time the surf and turf (coconut shrimp, steak and another shrimp item...$30 plus (we upgraded the steak again). I wasn't embarrassed to not also leave more tip..they got 15% which for their service is just right. We also went through AK to check out the menu about 3 pm, and they were giving out a certificate for a free appetizer. They told us we were welcomed to have something wrapped to go, so we did.

I'm with TreeOfLife on doing the reward stuff!! I just love getting $75.00 cash cards to turn into Disney Dollars!! Next I'm going for the reataurant Gift certificates from reward sites!!

I think FREE stuff is better than Buying vouchers!!

With advanced planning and knowledge of what you are likely to order these can be a real bargain. Contrary to some opinions you do not have to "make a pig" of yourself to get value from these. Sharing is permitted as well. We have saved a very good amount of money with the Kingdom Lunch vouchers and will continue to do so.
The Q&C's can be a good deal as well depending on your length of stay. If you were to use two per day for a 10 day vacation you would save at the very least $20.00--most likely more because you would be using them in a variety of places.
I like them and will continue to use them. Every little bit of savings helps in being able to add other things to the vacation. If you don't personally find value in them then don't use them.
