What air temperature would you say is good for the water parks?

I know the answer will differ from person to person. But if I could just get an idea of what air temperature you like to see before your kids will be comfortable in the water parks, I would be grateful. We are going the first week in December and my girls will be six and eight at the time, if that helps.

Thanks,
Barbie

I have been the week after Thanksgiving almost every year since 2000 and the weather has never been the same twice. It can be 80's during the day and 60's at night - next year it was in the 60's during the day and 40's at night.

Florida is not part of the Caribbean, which has predictable weather. It is part of the Atlantic and therefore unpredictable.

You can watch the weather for 10 days before you leave and it will change daily. The only thing you can do is check the weather 48 hours before you go, pack accordingly to what is comfortable at that temperature and layer, layer, layer.

There is no way of predicting if your children can tolerate the pool; it is heated, but what are they used to, where are you from, what kind of climate, do you only swim on vacation, can they tolerate the walk back to the room in a towel and wet bathing suit, etc. Only you know that answer.

We went December 27 this year. It was overcast and 72. DH and the boys went in...I was the photographer:) They didn't complain about it being cold at all. I think I read where they heat the water, so I am sure that helped.

Sunny and 70 could feel warmer than cloudy and 75, so it's hard to say. With my kids they could have cared less about the temp, they would go in at 60 if the pool was heated. But i'd think 70 and above would be fine for them -maybe not for the adults though!

I really prefer it to be over 75 before I get in the water. We went to Typhoon Lagoon in October 2011 and it was only about 70 degrees and it felt very chilly once you get out of the water.

Last October we went to Discovery Cove and it was around 76 and it felt good.

MYSELF personally:

75-82 ish degrees with mostly full/full SUNSHINE:cool1: it makes alot of difference in warmth! Just use lots of sun protection;)

or any temp above 83

My kids are older now, but they always tolerated temps a bit cooler than I did.

Hi, we have visited WDW twice in November around Thanksgiving. Each time we went to Blizzard Beach. Generally weather can change drastically and overnight this time of year - from 80's during the day and 50's at night to high 60's during the day, rain and 40's at night. I usually watch the weather forecast closely the week or two before we go. I usually end up changing around my original plans to find that one or two perfect days for Blizzard Beach. In 2009, the temperature was around 70 and very chilly but the water park was not crowded and we arrived early and felt like we had it all to ourselves jumping on everything without a wait. It was two cold to enjoy the lazy river but we enjoyed all the other slides. In 2010, it was around 80 degrees and it was perfect. I for one do not like to visit water parks when it is around 90 degrees or above. It just seems to hot to wait & walk up all those steps. In conclusion, I would say above 75 degrees and sunny but below 85 is ideal.:) We usually find that Disney pools are too cold for swimming this time of year or shall I say if its overcast in the least the air around the pools is to chilly to be wet from the pool and in a bathing suit.

We love the water parks and spent 3 days there in April '12 (2 at BB, 1 at TL). 2 of the days were in the 70s and cloudy and 1 of the days was sunny and 80s. Although it was chilly on the cloudy days, there were NO lines and we had a total blast. The sunny, warmer day was way more crowded.

I wouldn't hesitate to go on a cool, cloudy day. My kids weren't bothered my the temperature at all.

For me I prefer it to be at least 85 degrees, but I'm a Floridian & a cold weather wimp. ;)

Anything over 70 if the sun is out. We went to a waterpark here in Ohio this past week and it was 63-64 with a slight breeze - it was too cold when you got out of the water.
