Just curious, what age do you have to be to ride water mice alone? Also, if you are riding with an adult and child, is there a weight limit?

You must be 12 years old to drive the water mice. The weight limit is 320 lbs. DH and DS could not ride together!! lol. It really is slow when you have a lot of weight. Hope this helps.:D

The age for riding the water mice alone is 15. I am not sure about the weight limit for 2, if there is one. There were 2 adults ahead of us in line and I heard the CM telling them that the more weight in the boat the slower it would go, but no mention of a limit.
I did check on the parasailing and the limit for 2 is 300 lbs.
Have fun, the water mice were a blast!!

I believe it is 15 or 16 for the new, larger crafts at the CR as well as the bigger boats everywhere but it's been 12 for water mice at the Polynesian and GF for quite a few years.

Besides the age requirement, you must also be 5 feet tall. I didn't know about this - on our last trip to WDW, my dd's friend, who was fourteen at the time, was barely 5 feet tall. I had purchased the family plan at Carribean Beach, and the first day they had no problem. The next day, she was told she couldn't drive. When I had signed up they were both with me and she was never measured - they immediately used the mice. When I questioned this the next day after she was told she couldn't drive, they remeasured her and noted on our card that it was okay for her to drive. She really was 5 feet tall - it just depended on which CM measured her.

At the CR you had to be 16. As a matter of fact, they made my daughter show her driver's ID.

The idea of having to show your drivers license is probably a good one. Last year my dd and I (lucys mom) were in a boat near the Poly. We were just driving slowly, enjoying the experience (dd was 3 at the time) when we were almost sideswiped by two girls, who were maybe 12. They obviously had no driving experience. it was really scary. They almost rammed into my dd's side of the boat. We just got lucky that we turned in time and they missed us by inches. Being kids they were laughing and fighting over the steering wheel after that and they almost ran into another boat. Needless to say the water patrol boat came and towed them in. Their responsible adult was on the dock laughing and waiting for them. I'm glad the patrol was there, but it was literally inches that saved us from who knows what kind of injuries. I still shake when I think about it.
