what accounting program do you us in your home

I was using an old microsoft money program but had to give it up with the new computer. I have tried the new money and quicken and haven't had much success. All I need is a basic bill reminder with a budget forcast monthly and yearly. Any suggestions?

I'm currently using MS Money 2003 -- came with the computer when I bought it. I do enjoy MS Money -- I've never tried Quicken, to be honest. I'll probably update to the latest edition of MS Money after Christmas when it's usually on sale for about $9.xx.

We've been using Quicken for several years. There's a lot more avaiable than I actually use though. We use it to track expenses, reind of upcoming bills, track the bank accounts, etc.

I use Quicken Deluxe 2004.

I've been using this for quite some time, as you can see! I've looked at the newer versions and I can't justify upgrading based on the new "features". This does everything I need, so I'll keep it until it no longer runs. Intuit did stop supporting it sometime last year (I think ).

Same here. I've used Quicken to take care of my bank accounts for over 7 years. But I know that there is much more to the program that I don't use though too.

Quicken!

Somedays I hate it, but my dh always loves it! Can you tell who is an accountant and who got a C- in accounting in college? It is very easy to use. Uploads easily when you get a new version. Uploads very easily into Turbo Tax.

We have been using it at least 8-9 years. DH always gets the new one with his Turbo Tax (it is free then).

I don't use one, I am still a paper gal! But I would use whatever stemikger uses. He is debt free and one smart money guy!

Quicken!! I download transactions every day to keep track of unauthorized credit card use, etc. as well as keeping tabs on charging. So easy to reconcile the checkbook. To be fair, I haven't tried MS Money, but I am very happy with Quicken. You can track stocks and download lastest share prices so you always know what your portfolio is worth. It even handles stock splits and options.There are many features that I don't use, but I would hate to go back to the old way of reconciling the checkbook!!!

Another Quicken 2000 user here. I actually looked at a new one on the weekend....decided, nah, I'm fine with what I have....and saved myself $$$!

I also use Quicken. It helps me keep track of my budget for home and our 2 business ventures. It's good for keeping track of your home inventory as well.

I also have information filled out for the survivor report. It makes a printout of all my accounts (life, 401K, banks), phone numbers, etc...incase anything were to happen to me or DH. Our DD is only 5 and we have a guardian for her. I keep the print-out in our safe deposit box at the bank. The guardian would have all the information needed to get all our funds from banks, life policies, 401K's, etc... The report is great. God for bid anything should happen to me, DH wouldn't even know what all we have if it wasn't for the report.
