What about the Paradise Pier Hotel?

Any comments? How loud are the rooms? I am concerned because of the music playing at Downtown Disney. Thanks!

I haven't stayed there, so I am not an expert. But, I don't think it is close enough to DD for you to hear the music. We did stay at DLH once in Sierra Tower (which is right next to DD). We started with a DD view and had to switch because it was so noisy (I think we were on the 6th floor, too!).

PP is very nice, none of the rooms are close enough to DTD for that to be a factor. The rooms are nicely furnished and oversized. And each one comes with a very comfortable couch that makes into a twin sized bed (you just fold the back down, its very easy to convert into a bed). The pool is very basic but it has a wonderful slide that is fun for kids of all ages. The walk to the parks is about 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk. From or to Disneyland you can take the Monorail to cut down on that. If you are going to or from DCA to the PP you can cut through the Grand Californian Hotel which will save lots of time. I really like Paradise Pier and have had two great stays there.

Noise is not an issue at all. We couldnt hear the people in rooms near us, much less DCA or DTD. We enjoyed out stay, but did feel the walk was a bit far for the price you pay. I wish they would start a shuttle or tram from there. And, yes, we did use the monorail and cut thru the GC. It was still a long walk with sleepy children after 15 hours in the park.

Back before DTD the parking tram ran from PP. I find it silly that they expect everyone to walk now that there is DTD, the enterance is still just as far from the hotel!

No noise issues to worry about at the Paradise Pier.

The only rooms I can think of that might have a noise issue would be the patio rooms located next to the pool deck, but there's only a few of those rooms (about 6-8 patio rooms).

We LOVED our stay there. The pool was great and the slide was FUN! Just so you know, the water slide there is 185' long!:cool1:

I agree with this very much. My family of four is fine with the walk but I have travelled to DL so many times with either my parents or dh's dad and I would have loved a tram from both PP and the DLH. And taking the monorail is sometimes more trouble than its worth unless you end your day/night in Tomorrowland. My kids are older now so its fine but they need to bring that tram back! Don't get me wrong, I love the DLH and PP but for that money it would be nice to offer that perk for guests that need it.

We stayed there a few years ago and I don't remember any noise!

We have only stayed at Paradise Pier, we love it. Quiet, but close to the action. Our last stayed we had a view room and wow, the lights from California Adventure were so neat at night.

PP was incredibly quiet. Of all the hotels I've ever stayed at it's one of a few that I later realized how quiet it was because I never noticed anything. I think I could barely hear a shower next door when in the bathroom but it was very, very faint. Outside noise from the pool was non existant (we were on the 7th floor). No foot clomping above or doors slamming in the halls that we heard. We were there for 7 days the week before halloween so it was slightly busy but not maxed out.
