What about February crowds? Rides down?

Are there holiday crowds for President's Day weekend? Is it typically slow this month?

Also - How do I find out which rides will be down/refurbished? How far ahead do they have the info?

Thank you, Oh Knowledgable Ones. :worship:

Our family went President's Week in 06 and it was crowded but very doable (actually it was that trip that hooked me on DISboards). Lines were maybe an hour max. for the major rides during the peak time of the day. Other than that one week, I'm pretty sure the rest of the month is really slow, but that also means shorter hours.

As for ride refurbs, sites like Mouseplanet and Miceage have updated lists in their updates every week. Also, as your trip comes nearer, the official website will have the ride refurbs on the calendar for specific dates. I'm pretty sure Orange Stinger at DCA will be down starting this fall for a long time because they are transforming it into Silly Symphony Swings. Other Paradise Pier rides will also probably be down, and I'd count on at least one or two DL rides down too.

Early Feb is one of the best times to go. We always go the first weekend in Feb. Crowds are non existant, good deals are usually available and it's just the right amount of time after the holidays where my family is ready for a short vacation.:) The only downside is the possibility of rain. Feb can be very wet and/or cold, but we've been lucky and avoided it.

Take advantage of rain.

In February, its pretty much all locals at Disneyland, and locals can easily put off their trip due to rain. Rainy days are empty. Once at Disneyland in early March, it started raining on a Sunday night. By 10PM, the park was deserted and it was still open for another two hours. Amazing fun, it was like having the park to ourselves.

Rain in LA is rarely ever heavy rain, but it rarely ever rains that locals are seemingly scared to go outside or drive.

The only known scheduled closures are Pizza Oom Mow Mow maybe, Orange Stinger, the sunglasses shop which may not return, the souvenir shop next to the Corn Dog Castle, and the Corn Dog Castle.

It is best to wait and see as there is nothing you can do about ride closures other than avoid them and even that is at times up to the whims of Disney management and rides failing like Golden Zephyr that suddenly was down unexpectedly.

Great!!! I'm hoping for 1st week of Feb...depending on schedule stuff.
As for the rides - last time we missed HM & Monsters Inc...so this time we want to get it in for sure. THat's all. :)
